As someone who is so passionate about music, I've always been fascinated and thrilled by how people discover music and also consume it. Over the years, I've noticed significant changes in how we discover, engage with, and share music. With the rise of streaming services, social media, and digital platforms, music consumption patterns have become more diverse and complex.

Personally I stopped visiting some of my Christian websites like praiseworldradio.com, busysinging.com and many other sites and all i do recently was to get new trending song for the various social media platforms like YouTube shorts, Instagram reels and Facebook reels, on Hive Web3 platforms (mostly the music communities), this have really helped me.
I believe in Music is a universal language, that carry different messages, Meanings, culture and vibes. I really love to be diverse in my music taste in music, although as a Gospel Minister a lot of people don't actually like the idea of listening to other songs apart from Gospel music, I guess I'm just different.

My Observation on how people discover and engage with music.

I noticed that nowadays people are shifting their attention to Streaming

I've witnessed firsthand the impact of streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube music, Google music and TikTok on the music industry. According to recent statistics, streaming now accounts for the majority of music industry revenue. This shift has changed the way artists and labels approach music distribution, marketing, and monetization.
Trust me when I say this: most of the artists are now generating their major income from streams
The competition is so high that some artists here in Nigeria resorted to stream farming. This is an illegal act by which the numbers of streams is being boosted in a fraudulent manner.

I noticed that Streaming services have grown significantly over the past decade, with the number of streaming subscribers increasing exponentially. I've seen many of my friends and family members switch to streaming services, and it's clear that they're here to stay.

The Revenue impact of streaming is massive

Streaming now accounts for the majority of music industry revenue, with physical album sales and digital downloads declining. Infact Streaming services have created new business models for artists and labels, including subscription-based services and ad-supported streaming. I've noticed that many artists are now releasing music exclusively on streaming platforms.

The Role of Social Media
Social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok have become crucial for music discovery, promotion, and engagement. Artists and labels are leveraging social media to Build fan communities, Engage with fans, share behind-the-scenes content, and foster a sense of community. I've seen many artists use social media to connect with their fans and share exclusive content.
Social media is also used to Promote new music, share shorts, also Share teasers, snippets, and exclusive content to generate buzz around new releases. I've noticed that many artists use social media to promote their music and create hype around new releases. For example the recent album release (5ive by Davido), Davido made of a lot of hype around the album on all social media platforms, presently the album is doing well on all streaming platforms.

In Conclusion
Things are changing very rapidly, technology and recent innovation has resulted in change in the way we get music and consumes music, sale of physical albums is no more productive and profitable.
Streams, social media and many others are now the major revenue generator.

Thanks for reading, Do have a very Happy Easter♥️✝️
