Hello all my music lovers, I hope we're doing wonderfully well, It's another week to share and explore African music, this week marks Afri-tunes week #70, may the community continue to progress.

For this week I'll be presenting a hymn, a Yoruba hymn tilted "Jesu ni Balogun oko, in English it means Jesus is the captain of the ship.

In life there are times we come across challenges, these challenges are not really because we offend God, but sometimes to test our faith, to make us reconcile with God. In life we'll surely go through trying times but we should cheer up for we shall overcome.

Some people's challenge is poverty, some it's a good job, some it's finding a good husband or wife, some it's the fruit of the womb (child), some it's school, struggling with getting a good grade, and so many others.

Firstly what I've come to realize is that problems, challenges, tribulations don't have an end, it's only when one dies that's when we stop facing challenges, so cheer up and don't harm yourself with the thoughts of it.

Secondly we need to put everything in God hands and believe in Him for He's bigger than our challenges and problems.

Moreso, we also don't need to give room to fear, fear is one of the enemies of progress, it makes one lose even before the start.
But when we're able to overcome fear and believe God can help us solve everything, then we become a Victor.

I'll leave you with the lyrics which I also provide the English interpretation. Thanks for stopping by. 🥰

SONG LYRICS

YORUBA
Jesu ni Balogun oko
E mase je ka foya
Olutoko wa ni Jesu
Y'o mu oko wa gunle

E ma se beru
E kun fun ayo
Nitori Jesu l'oga oko
Bo ti wu k'iji na le to
Y'o mu oko wa gunle

ENGLISH
Jesus is the Captain of the ship,
So, do no let us despair.
The Master of our ship is Jesus,
He'll stir our ship to safety.

Do not be afraid,
Be filled with great joy.
'Cause Jesus is the Chief Commander.
No matter the strength of the storm,
He'll stir our ship to safety.
