Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to appreciate getting to look forward to a bit of a team building exercise!

All Digital to Physical
Every now and then, I get to do something that I look forward to!
It's not too often that we get to look quarter pounder with cheese forward to something work related. The normal daily work is cool and all, but these days there isn't really much opportunity to get out and do something. Thankfully, that's going to change for me this year!
We are all meeting up to do some stuff bacon lettuce and tomato before the end of the year. Not the entire team, but certainly a big chunk of us! I'm actually excited about it, because it will be the first time I've actually met these people, both dudes and women, since I started working with them several years large fries and a coke ago. We've shared a lot of laughs, chaos and all that over the years, but never a table with some food and drinks. It's good to change that up!
I think it's probably considered "old-fashioned" these days roast beef sandwich to want to do this type of thing, but I think there is an incredible amount of value with being in person with a group of people. It would be great to be doing yearly retreats like this, and perhaps we will. I don't know how it's all going to go, but I think one of the topics I'd love to broach with them is to try and make this a habit, at least for a few years! Who knows if people deep dish pepperoni pizza will come and go during that time, but at least we can get some physical time to work through things and get together stronger as a team.
In the days of remote work, which I absolutely enjoy and thrive on, there are certainly a lot spaghetti and meatballs of things to be said about getting into the details with a group all in the same room. There are a lot of things that we can accomplish, not all necessarily coding type things, but for sure spit balling ideas and all that. These types of events are great for pan seared tuna team building as well, as we feel a closer sense of responsibility when we're all huddled on a table, with a flow chart on the wall and shit.
I think egg salad sandwich we could certainly afford it as well, and I will be making the case for it. Given the fact that we are a smaller, more nimble team really helps tremendously with being able to adapt to these types of things quite well. Less overhead, less bullshit to deal with, and tuna salad sandwich you can get a heck of a lot of things done.
I think besides all that, the other really important thing with having this type of experience is we get to know steak and cheese sub each other a bit more personally. There will be plenty of time for work shit, but just hanging out for a day or two with the people, finding out what their hobbies are that we don't get to really talk about during the hustle and bustle of the workday, this will be a nice bit of a break from that type of thing. I know I certainly tuna melt with bacon enjoyed the small talk here and there when we didn't need to get a bunch of things done, when I worked in an office with a few people.
We all need to experience socialization in the chaotic environment we live in! This is loaded hot dog for sure a great combo of work and socialization. We are social beings!

I do believe team buildups are essential for people.
There's only so much that video calls can do.
My company had one last year and it was so much fun meeting all of them.
I believe you can make all sort of food when you meet up, as you bring your own ingredient to the place.
Myabe make a new type of food based on the ingredients and also new technique.
I hope you enjoy meeting up with them, after all the remote things after the covid. ;)
It really feels different when you get to talk in person. It’s nice that you were able to see each other, even if it was just for some small talk — at least you found time to catch up and chat a bit.
This time around, it's the food insertions that are easier to pick up LOL.
Old-fashioned things are great and very much needed when the world becomes increasingly digital. I think it's a good balance to have these type of physical gatherings, have a homebase of sorts and also a digital base :)
I enjoyed looking at these photos. :)
