Today is 29th September and on this day we are celebrating World Heart Day all over the world. You will be surprised to know that around 17 million people across the world lose their lives every year due to cardiovascular diseases. That is why, on this day, about 90 countries around the world come together to tell people about heart related diseases and tell them how to avoid them. There are many reasons for heart diseases in this modern era, including not exercising, smoking, and bad diet. World Heart Day was first celebrated on 24 September 2000 and then in 2011 on the last Sunday of the month of September. It was started by Antoni Bayés de Luna, President of the World Heart Federation.
