I don't know if you have heard about armchair experts, they can tell about almost everything without any form of visit or encounter with a place or a people. The perfect way to know about a place is from those who live in the place if opportunity isn't available for one to visit. Many who talk down about Russia and Russians never lived in Russia I never left my country before I can't speak bad of other countries @clixmoney lives in Russia and he tells me how good Russia is and I develop much love for the country and on a personal note he's also good person so Russia is a place.
