Put Together a Quick Fire Pit in the Backyard - July 24, 2021

in DTube3 years ago (edited)

I had a tree fall down last week and my driveway is loaded with sticks, twigs and branches. I decided to make a little fire pit out of 8 pavers that I had laying around. It worked out wonderfully! I'll be using it this summer to burn off some of the old wood and clean up the yard a bit.

Get a cast iron pan or better: a dutch oven and cook with sticks as fuel ;)

Great idea. I've got a nice cast iron pan and a large cast iron wok... perhaps I'll give that a go sometime soon! Dutch Oven is now on the wish list.

What kinds of wood are you working with? Out here in the SW we are blessed with plenty of mesquite trees!

Lots of oak and maple!

Maple probably smells amazing! But better to build with I'd imagine?

Better to let grow and extract sap :)
But yes, definitely better for construction purposes as well

You could use it to prepare some nice food too. Food from natural heat and fire has a very different taste.
