a lot of countries locking down and closing borders to foreigners, also counties that institute a quarantine but have big connection airports like France with Charles De Gaulle have severely limiting flights if not stopping them, so if you have a connecting flight through a limited or stopped airport you flight just will not go.
this could take months to solve if you have to get back to your country contact your embassy.
