Looking to start recording your electric or acoustic guitar with your smartphone? Check out this how-to video for 6 different ways to record your guitars with your smartphone mic or computer.

Whether you're a beginner or a more advanced guitarist, this video will give you the tips you need to start recording your acoustic guitar with your smartphone mic. From using apps to using external mics, this video has it all! So sit back and get ready to record your acoustic or electric guitar with your smartphone mic!

The 6 methods that I have tested to record guitar with a smartphone or minimal equipment like a headset microphone.
Finding the best way to record guitar after discovering that the method I thought was working didn't work as expected.

Using your existing phone and headset there's zero cost involved and the results of such a method of recording can be surprisingly good.

There was no processing on the phone recordings but with a little bit of time and a digital audio workstation like cakewalk by bandlab which I used to process the last acoustic guitar recording or a similar DAW like ableton live or flstudio the sound may be improved dramatically.

The quality varies as you would imagine but some of the results were much better than I expected.

Some very good recordings came from putting the headset mic in front of a guitar amp.

The best audio results came from using the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface. No surprise there considering this device was designed precisely for that purpose.

Why record your guitar playing?

There are many reasons as to why people record their guitar. The obvious reason is that you are creating a literal record of your playing at that point in time. It's a way to track your progress over time.

It's just a fun thing to do.

Another reason to consider is whether you want to leave your music and ideas for future generations to discover.

This might sound grandiose and overblown but history is littered with music from long dead composers and some who are still alive that were rarely recognized in their own lifetime.

Occasionally an unknown musician or musical idea grabs the imagination of the public.

This is your life. Why not record it?

Sometimes you just need to #record your #electric #guitar fast and these are the fastest and cheapest way I know.
Start by using your #smartphone

Give it a try and let me know in the comments how you get on.

You are reminding me that I need to do some recording. I've got my setup sussed out now with an interface to the PC and a mixer so I can record different sources. I find it's important to not be messing around when you get an idea and want to capture it.

Rock on!

All the gear and no idea 😂😂🎶🎸👍🏼

A year ago this week I posted a very short and humorous video on how to record electric guitar on a phone.

It was well received and is a viral hit in terms of my channel. It's still getting better numbers every day.

6000+ views later this is the follow up in depth video showing 6 other ways to record your guitar with minimal equipment. I wonder how this video will do in a years time?

Now this is the mystery of video making. You never know what will happen regardless of SEO and your best marketing strategy. It's a crapshoot just like crypto 😂👍🏼🎶🎸
