I think we have a lack of empathy in the world as a whole but I also think that like everything, it has a purpose. It’s Yin and Yang - we need balance with people lacking empathy as well as having it. We are likely balanced too far in the lacking it but we shouldn’t seek to completely remove it because that tilts the balance too far in the other direction. The world is all about balance, and that includes the negative stuff as well. Utopia doesn’t exist, at least in the form of nothing bad exists in it. We have to balance good with bad!

Your thoughts on balance really hit home. It's as if we're navigating through the constant ebb and flow of Yin and Yang, where empathy and its absence are partners in crime. I couldn't agree less on Your analogy capturing the idea that harmony isn't about erasing differences, but rather embracing them as part of life's rich tapestry.
