On a serious note: I 100% agree with you. If we don't like the status quo, we shall seek the power in ourselves to at least change what is in our control. regarding HIVE, that is the HP we have, to use it as we see fit, but perhaps not take the easy route. In the end, when everybody takes the easy route, we end up with auto voting + some curation teams distributing all the newly minted HIVE and some of the HBD.
To all those who think you don't have the time available for manual curation. Download the Ecency smartphone app. Follow all the accounts you like. Use your short breaks and waiting time during your day to go through your 'follow' list and slap your vote on those posts you like. You don't even have to comment, but preferably you drop some comments here and there. The latter isn't difficult, since you may have something in mind when reading an article. Just write those in the comments section, whatever it is, and hit the send button.
