About a month ago I got a notification saying that I have been on Hive for 7 years. This is quite a number to be proud of. Most of this time I have been active on the platform but last year I was not writing here that much. I was still present but did maybe one post per month. I think it's time to change that again.
I looked at some of my statistics and it's pretty interesting to see these different numbers that have accumulated during the 7 years of being here.
Total amount of posts written: 1175
Comments written: 4576
Upvotes I have given 257 983
Comments I got: 6505
Upvotes others gave me: 312 435
After my 7th Hive birthday, I started to wonder how many people I follow are actually still here so I did a little counting. I looked at both my followers and the people who I follow. I have 1034 followers, but the sight was quite grim after checking out when these people were last posting. Turns out that in reality, I have only 132 followers, because these are recently active people and by that, I mean in the last 2 months. The big majority have not been here for the last 4 or 5 years
We Steemit/Hive veterans all remember when the coin price was high and big rewards for posts were a common occurrence. Even for the posts that were full of shit but that is what attracted the people and this is also the reason why we have so many dead accounts these days. All the people without a long-term mindset have left long ago.
I also looked at the 161 people I follow. Of them, I only counted 31 active users that have posted in the last 2 months. Many great people in those 161 who created some really cool stuff and whose adventures I was interested to see are no longer here sadly but it is what it is.
So, a shoutout to you 31. Most of you I have followed for many many years and it is cool to see you still here posting after all these times!

I will also remain here and keep posting and interacting with the community. Not because I'm desperately waiting for life-changing gains here (I wouldn't mind tho 😅) but because Hive is still the go-to place for me to share my adventures and photography stuff and am interested to see where things evolve with Hive. If I keep earning something off of it then it's a nice bonus. I don't see myself leaving unless the chain gets abandoned and the core community gives up on it.

It is sad fact about active users and the thing that many of the accounts are no longer active... I don't know the numbers but I still hope there are more new accounts, more "incomers" than "outcomers"... it is important not only for this particular platform but to the whole idea of cryto blogging to be still alive and develop.
We need to be positive and work on it together :).
Thank you! Currently the crypto blogging is still alive and I hope that the the current inflow of new people to Hive is bigger than outflow. Since the price has not been very high or spiked a lot then maybe the people who come to the platform are not onyl here for quick big gains
