You just made me remember that the media encourages consumerism. They keep shilling products and services in our faces using the algorithm that keeps track of our activities. They make us feel we need these things when we don't need them. And we will keep buying, going back to work to refill, buying again, working again, and the cycle continues. Someone makes a profit; someones loses valuable time to the labor market
