The City West UniSA campus was even built in such a way to prevent large social congregations from gathering with the risk of "riot" - an artifact of the timeframe in which it was constructed where there were student riots going on in various parts of the world.
😲 Did you ever have them here? My ignorance is showing as I've never really been big on watching the news/propaganda so I'm not even sure what the time period on that would be and where they happened.
The bureaucracy of academia was what stopped me from pursuing a PHD. I don't want the title, but I would like to do the research.
My eldest was saying that she hated that too with the undergrad part, but is loving the research part now now she's doing her PhD. I'll have to ask my sister if she felt the same.
you can do a far better job of climbing up to (and smasing) that glass ceiling than many others ever could.
I always felt the glass ceiling was being successfully smashed in the 80s as I grew up, ready for my sister and myself when we reached adulthood. I'm not really ambitious enough to have made the best use of that myself, though, but thank you for the sentiment.
Not a single riot while I was there. :P
The building psychology must have worked.
Hope you're feeling better today, apologies for my delay in reply, been busy working on that new tool thingo I made.
Well that was disappointing that you missed out on that quintessential part of Uni life. :P
I saw you'd posted on that. Haven't had chance to read it yet, though.
I'm all good today apart from having to do things I don't want to do, like housework. ;)
I did all the house work on Friday. Sharn is visiting her friend in Kimba, then she's dragging her back for my exhibition opening thingo on Friday. :)
Its quiet but productive.
Maybe I'll go the uni campus and start a riot ;P
