Today we spent the day at a car show. Well, half the day, because we arrived in Valencia (where the fair was) around 1:00 p.m., and we stayed there until we got tired. There were only two pavilions, which you could see quickly, but you know what it is like at a fair. You get lost after seeing ten cars, and under those bright lights and crowds, you get tired even more quickly, but that makes your feet move slow... and there are like hundreds of cars... It is like walking through a dense forest, but you don't breathe the oxygen and tranquillity of nature; you get lost in all those shiny surfaces.
And prices.
There were used cars, but also some new ones. As we knew before coming, the prices of used cars are quite high compared to a few years ago. Like the prices of houses in Spain, cars also almost doubled. And unfortunately, this rise isn't accompanied by an increase in wages. No. It is harder to buy a new (or used) car these days than it was a few years ago; that's the reality. But anyway, we went to see what was on offer, and since we had already visited a fair in Alicante two weeks ago, we knew more or less what to expect.
Our car is eleven years old (it will be twelve this autumn) and we are more than happy with it. It has a 1.5 dCi (also known as K9K) engine, which has never let us down, even though we have already run with it 185,000 kilometres, and that number will rapidly continue to rise. We are impressed with its durability, so if we could find another car with the same engine but a lot younger and with much fewer kilometres, we would be over the moon.
The thing is that the majority of the cars we saw were with a petrol engine, as well as hybrid or electric cars. For the mileage I make.. I would kill any petrol engine car in a year. 😂
The car show was also full of SUVs and crossover cars. We have never wished to have such a big car, but now I have started to change my mind about it. One of the cars my dad had was a Peugeot 407, a very cool one that we all loved, however, it became too hard for him to stand up from that position and step out of the car. I don't know if I explained well... it was easier for my dad to sit in a higher car because of his health issues.
I got dizzy seeing so many of these cars with these numbers placed there, with their special fair offers, valid just for the car show etc. However, I must confess that after sitting in a Citroën C5 Aircross in Alicante two weeks ago, I got that feeling my dad also has. Much more comfortable for taking a seat and standing up after a long ride. My back and left leg would be grateful for having a bit higher vehicle.
None of these cars is in our price range, don't worry. 😂 To be honest, we can't afford any car right now if we don't perform some magic tricks haha, but having insight into car prices on the market and planning is not forbidden. At the moment, we stay with our very old but loved car (I talk to it every day, saying thank you and kissing its steering wheel 😅) until finding a similar one but younger. This was just a report of my impressions from this car show... the higher the cars were, the higher their price was too! 🤣

Last year we changed cars, we bought it second-hand in Clicars and we are very happy. The price was good, but it was because we didn't have to finance it. We took an Opel Crossland, which has that height that is comfortable to get in and out of it. We didn't kiss him, but we gave him a name: Crosslanico. 😂

Cualquiera se marea con tanto color, brillo, luces y sobre todo precios jajajaja. No me gustan los autos grandes, de hecho no me gusta ninguno, pero reconozco que son útiles y necesarios. Viéndolo del punto de vista de la salud y la comodidad, coincido con tu papá también.
Nuestro auto era muy bajo y pequeño, después de un largo viaje estábamos anquilosados 🤣. Y que pudiera decir de su edad...era un ancianito, pero lo amábamos. Por cierto ya no tenemos nuestro amado y flamante polaquito el "Submarino amarillo". Ahora seguimos en un auto pequeño pero más cómodo y con un mejor motor, un Subaru Vivió "La naranja mecánica" 😜 , aunque también es mayor (del 1999) es 14 años más joven que el otro 😆. En el los viajes son más rápidos y por tanto los dolores son menores 😂🤣. Esperemos que pronto podamos tener todos un auto lo suficientemente grande y cómodo...los años pasan y el cuerpo lo sabe 😔😬🤣. Abrazos!!
