I did enjoy the talk and it was interesting to discover that communities can sometimes struggle to survive if they don't have so much support. Organic growth of the members of the community and curation projects although they take time, seem the only long term option imo. I would also say that although it may seem to take a long time to build, things can start to snowball once you gain traction, so it is worth it.

I mentioned in Discord the "losing-fate-phase" and somehow I can see it happening... By looking under the surface, I saw more and more people "quitting", being disappointed, etc.

The problem is always the same and you covered it in your comment... You wrote about the long-term building, creating a stable base for the future, which is opposite to our "microwave society" and way of thinking... Those who came for the "wrong reason" will leave the first...
