RE: Overpromise and Underdeliver - The Hype Train

Reading my first post from your account, @oblivioncubed, this post certainly illustrates how much is happening linked to the Hive blockchain. And, as a result, what it will take for a newbie to even begin to have some grasp of its complexity.

With my background, all I can underscore is taken from your post's title. Which is why I am reading your post in the first place. And what would I underscore? Your title reminds me of all I have experienced with crypto in general:

  • FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out): Hype is everywhere. Far too much of it. While we can understand the need to get the word out, there are several lines crossed beyond that which lead many to generally feel a sense of being played. And very seldom does it end well. Surprise, surprise.

  • FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt): There is far too little of this, once we get past the obvious desire to keep discussions civil and respectful. With few exceptions, this is just not tolerated. Period. Raising the obvious question about getting known issues out into the light - what are the naysayers afraid of having exposed? Of having to defend?

Anyway, that is my thought as I read this post. Which certainly brings to my mind how the above can be applied to what you apparently have experienced with Hive's Leo community.

Good to know. Thanks for getting this all down!
