Green Day's song immediately came to mind when I read the title haha...anyway, there's so much more to that phrase when I read this. Yes, one can't really expect that moving out from your country to migrate to the better country would guarantee a better life. I've heard many stories about people in our country migrating to Europe or our neighboring countries in search of a better life, but not all of them are successful. Some even experienced a harsher life there, and in the end, they'll come back to our country—especially those who were unable to adapt.
I, too, wanted to try testing my luck outside our country after I finish my college here. Plus, the current state of our government added to that interest because it seems that they're now at each other's throats. Instead of being united in serving people, they seemed to be more interested in serving first their allies and personal agendas. I know moving out will not reduce the difficulty of living, but at least if I move out, then I won't witness the political circus they've been untiringly performing for years...and that would definitely be a relief.
So many think if they land in another country, they have to have a better life and the country has to offer them a better life. As I said in my post, most if not all the countries are suffering economically, unemployment rates are growing, then why should they give a chance and special treatment to foreigners who don't have anything special to offer?
I had a look at the Canadian migration law and everywhere it says skilled workers, which means you have to have qualification and experience too.
Pretty soon this uncontrolled migration has to stop.
True...that's why I'm really eager to finish my degree first, then pursue my license, and also later some years of work experience here in my country. My professor also did that, and fortunately, she's now teaching SpEd abroad. I heard she's doing well there, so I guess if the situation in our country won't improve, then might as well try overseas...Japan, maybe since it's one of my dream to go there and experience their culture.
And yes, the uncontrolled ones need to stop for it's both detrimental to the country they migrate to and also to them—who can't adapt.
