As a gamer in the past this was hard to read XD. We all wanted that expensive GPUs to play games in max settings. What you said about the quality of GPUs is quite true. They don't last like they used to. My AMD GPU got wrecked after a year lol. The laptop was pretty useless after that because the display driver won't install properly because of this so it's always overheating and the display was always black. Spend a lot of cash to repair it but all was in vain. The my friend who has a laptop with 1080ti also got wrecked after 2 years and he only used it for minor tasks.
Bought a cheap one without a dedicated GPU on purpose last year. From what the laptop technicians have told me, laptops with GPU won't last very long compared to one without it because of the heating. Although there are premium models available but I also saw people cry about how the board was damaged within a year online. My uncle's old laptop is still working without much issues. It's been 25 years since he bought it. It's either the laptop back in those days were made well or he takes good care of it haha.
