I was a skinny kid too but I never had swim trunks like that so my photos were a touch less embarrassing :S
I thought you said you were less troll like??? Oh wait, now I understand!
Oh man, the 70's!!! 🤣
That is spec-bloody-tacular news, regarding the sleep, It should have a massive effect, although full benefits are likely realised and felt fully some way down the trach, those pesky incrementals, eh?
People don't realise what an essential organ it is. It will mess up your mind up a fair bit too...
I used to constantly write about how unhappy work made me and how I kept experiencing bouts of intense depression... I constantly informed healthcare professionals that there was a physical reason behind this, they patted me on t'head and told me to run along.
How bloody amazing is hindsight, huh?
My recovery would have been much longer, but my Mam, (very possibly the same dialect specific wordage you would use???) had a little stroke, then a massive stroke, was permanently disabled, (hoisted everywhere), went in to a care home and subsequently died... So after the initial stroke, although I couldn't really walk, I had to pull on my big-boy trunks pants and get out of my house.
The silver lining from a horrific situation of course is that I had to recover well enough to take on the roles no-one else was, despite being the eldest of 3 sons... (story for another life time lol)
Like you, I am benefiting from much more light!!! 15 minutes minimum upon waking, then forcing myself outta the door as much as I can, the transformation is rapidly becoming exponential.
My brevity is still ever so slightly lacking, you may discern!
Sending the very best wishes man! I hope the other side is much, much brighter!
NO! not that other side... Jesus!
Be well, be better mate! 😎
Yeah when I said troll-like I meant living in a dark cave. I was on the ground floor in a narrow street surrounded by tall office blocks.
For them it's mostly having a good memory rather than actually understanding the science behind it.
I've had a go at doctors for treating the symptoms of a condition rather than treating the condition itself. "I don't want something for the pain, I want you to treat the thing that is causing the pain and then the pain will go away". Same thing can be said of depression and diabetes ii (not diabetes i - that is a condition) - they are both symptoms of an underlying condition/problem.
Doctors can cope with the common stuff or emergencies but they are not really up there on the science. They haven't got a clue on how all the hormones work. How everything is thrown off by shift work and how everything gets metabolised differently or rather incorrectly so that your blood sugar goes wonky. Add the pancreatic problems on top you are going to get severe waves of depression.
I could rant all day on this - the number of times I have had to hold my tongue when I was thinking "no shit Sherlock" is untrue.
As an aside my nephew just qualified as a doc. He left for Australia 2 weeks ago with pretty much the whole of his house. Seems the student docs are all pissed off with government attitudes.
