In this day and age, in the midst of a pandemic, we find ourselves running into situations where we must adapt. My son had his soccer game this morning, and after that went to a truckapalooza event in our town. With their mom working a double today, I wanted to make sure they were tired out so that when they got home, they would just want to veg out, eat dinner and go to bed. So I decided to go to McDonald's for lunch and then we would head out to a local Pumpkin festival.
The lobby at McDonald's was closed due to a worker shortage, so, understanding the situation, and needing a place for my kids to eat besides the car, I stopped by the local highschool where they had a gazebo dedicated to students who have passed away.
The gazebo is actually really nice, and it's hooked up to electricity for lights.
What I found inside however, was not.
There, on the bench was a leftover coffee and on the ground, an empty KitKat wrapper and McDonald's bag filled with lunchables and leftover McDonald's wrappers. Behind the bag, a trail of ants you can see if you zoom in.
Since I had my two toddlers with me, I had to get creative when we packed up to leave. I packed up all our things, got them in the car, drove back over as close as I could get to the gazebo, ran over with a plastic bag I had in my car and threw all the trash in it.
I then ran back to my car, drove over to the closest trash can I could find, parked the car and ran over to it. Of course, the opening to the metal trash can was small, and so when I pushed the contents into the small opening, old food, coffee and ants that were in the bag got all over my hand.
It was worth it however to get that trash thrown away, I couldn't leave that behind. After that we went on our way to the pumpkin festival where my kids played games and got to watch a tractor parade.
I cant even guess what type of person would leave those random contents in the gazebo behind because they were so different from each other.
Please don't leave your trash behind for others to pick up. End rant.
Solid rant man! Well deserved as well lol. I hate when I see people leaving bags of shit all over the place instead of in the barrel where it belongs. The lake is like that, people leave their trash on the beach and will even throw it into the property my wife’s uncle owns! It’s obnoxious. I remember breaking bottles and stuff as a kid but never just leaving trash on the ground. Even when we skated we would throw shit away!
Great point man! I cringe when I think back about when we used to smash bottles in the fire, but we always carried our trash out, even as those "punk" skate kids lol.
Yeah I know. The fires and parties in the woods weren’t as clean lol when we skated though I think we were good about taking our trash. Matt might not have been but he liked trolling hahaha
