Hello Lovelies !
Today is the #MarketFriday, and did you know there is a community now where you can post your friday's markets from all over the world..? Of course it was created by the wonderful @dswigle herself, the original creator of this successful hashtag 😉
Since two weeks we do not have any markets in France due to the quarantine, but normally, there would have been tomorrow a special market in the old town of Annecy which is the monthly flea market that usually takes place every last Saturdays of the month ! ^_^
so I dived for you in my archives, and I came out with some nice pictures taken last year and which I will share with you to make you discover how picturesque our flea market is ...
In this market, there are many professionals, it is not a garage sale where everyone exhibits the objects they want to get rid of,
it is more a place to hunt around, intended for true lovers of old-fashioned goods and antiques where vintage rubs shoulders with finds of great value ...
Some will definitely appreciate finding very old books, the kind that you open with care and that smell of humidity over their pages aged in attics.
Old books ... like out of another time ...
Everything is well presented, the sellers display their objects nicely, and I so enjoy isolating very vintage scenes for my shots
old dolls alongside the silver candlesticks, water jugs vintage bistro, a hair dryer ....
Of course, the old town is a magical place to make a flea market, the buildings are old and thus marry very well with antiques...😉
charming and old-fashioned armchair leaning against a street fountain ...
and why not pretty silver cutlery ...? 😊
Let's continue our walk through the different stands of this flea market, a sunny Saturday in late March,
and let's have now a more wide sight of the market and its decor in the old town...
And I saved you the best for the end with this view of the Thiou canal crossing the old town and which gives the city of Annecy its nickname of Savoyard Venice ... ❤️
So here are all the beautiful things that I would have seen tomorrow if we were not confined,
but thanks to the many photos taken before and especially my passion for my wonderful city, I think we could traveled pleasantly through the pretty narrow streets, the old buildings, and discover the picturesque antiques market of Annecy 😊
I wish you a wonderful week-end My Lovelies...

this was a super cool post for me, thank you!
my stuff, I am so in love with this stuff, all these remnants of the past. I wish I could spend there a full day.. or better two or three! having no money, but a backpack with three lenses (wide-angle, 50mm and tele). that would be a feast for my eyes!
this photo was a special intrest to me. can you tell me some details? is this sort of a 'mobile counter' for selling an old papers... or what it is?.. intrigue. I'd love to buy it and have at my home, heh (but no way I can do this)
this piece is a real beauty, I agree ! I don't know what this what aimed for, as I was focusing on taking shots and didn't ask anything to the vendor that was not on his stand, I can remember that...I pulled the sort of drawers to see inside but it was quite flat with very little height,so I think it was to store documents, or perhaps to present papers ...you can also open the place where there is the shoes
I bet it is from the printshop, somewhere pre-1950-es, intended to store newspapers, big format documents, illustrations, stuff like that. amazing vintage stuff... thnku one more time.
Yes! I bet you are right! The only other thing I have seen stored in there are maps. But, the print shop would have been my first guess.
that is where my desire to own this thingie grows :P as I am a publishing worker... and a fan of various old papers and archives :P
Oh, yes!!! I can see the attraction!
Oh, the fountain is something I would love to have, right in my foyer! :) I know, it is for outside, but, it is a beauty and I would want to see it every time I walked through the door.
What a wonderful flea market! I miss meandering through the little towns on Saturday, captivated by someone elses treasures. You captures such awesome pictures and it was a sheer delight walking along with you.
Annecy is so special and you always bring it to life with your tales of the city. Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday!
#MarketFriday loves you!
