RE: Union Station on a Market Friday

Oh, that is so good!! :) You grew up in Silver Spring? How cool is that! I have lived here twice, once in the '90s as a new student and now. I lived 15 different places between then and now. My brother worked in NYC as a bike messenger. He loved it. You haven't been back here in 12 years? You must still have family here.

Oh, the memories. Mine is of Connecticut and a house on the water and working in NYC... but, I do love it here and there is definitely never a dull moment. You were in Thailand, weren't you? I saw that you were in Cambodia. Did you just hop the border for a visit or did you trade in locations? Are you employed there from a company over here or did you just hop a plane one day and never come back, except for a visit?

Well, I look forward to reading your post. Although I don't see your link here, I saw one floating around which I will get to tomorrow. Thank you so much! Stay safe out there!

#MarketFriday loves you!

Yes I'm from Colesville originally. Tamarack if you know that neighborhood. Silver Spring is quite a big area. My brother is still there with his family. Ah that Cambodia post is full of photos from a few years ago actually as all the borders are closed these days. I came over here as a backpacker in 2000 and never really went back long term. Was based in SF when I left.

I'm familiar! I know where the neighborhood park is and I know where Tamarack Road is. Close enough? :)

I know the borders have been closed for a long while now and so glad you have taken the opportunity to globetrot as you have. I did after school take a year and all of the Europen continents for a year and then got married, had 3 kids, and while they were young, homeschooled them and traveled the US in an RV with three kids and a dog and homeschooled in my spare time. Best time EVER.

Are you ever coming home or have you found your forever home? :)

Yeah that's the place! Nice neighborhood. We used to go to White Oak when we were kids. Yes the US is great to travel around. I made it to almost all the lower 48... No plans are the best plans :) Going back to the US? Maybe to buy land in the countryside or a sailboat. I grew up sailing on the Chesapeake :)

Not bad. Most people never see the States. Alaska is super cool and took cold on top of a looong trip. But, it's beautiful. No plans are the best plans unless you have kids! Ha!

Stay safe over there!

Yes I met lots of people from Alaska when I lived in Seattle and SF. Many did a Hawaii/Alaska route...

Oh, yes! That is such a sweet trip from there! I don't know ANYONE who didn't love Alaska.

We are weird people, yes?

Homeschool is great. For good or bad I went to public schools. Luckily Montgomery County had a fairly good ed system. Wow this is reminding me of lots. Yeah we used to spend lots of time in the creek behind our house. Paint Branch I think...

Paint Branch has a great bike trail over there. Not sure if you have ever been when you have been home. I homeschooled only when I took them on long trips, like the US and Europe. It was good to give them a year of immersion rather than a week trip. All in all, they love being vagabonds. :) Montgomery County have excellent schools and there is no need to go private with schools like that.

Such a small world.

Yes indeed. We used to iceskate at the girl scouts camp there. Yes I used to ride those trails that led to the pool over near Springbrook. I went to Paint Branch though growing up on the border. We spent most of our free time in the woods... Yes I'm happy to have grown up in Montgomery County. Quite fortunate.
