Happy Friday everyone!
If you have ever had surgery you know all about what happens before you get to the operating room. It's a process called Pre-admission testing. Depending on the surgery required, each individual will undergo tests, many include blood work, EKG, chest x-ray, physical exam, blood typing and sometimes a stress test. These tests before undergoing surgery and general anesthesia are extremely important as some conditions, if found during this testing, can alert the surgeon as to any underlying problems which may affect the outcome of the procedure.
The anesthesiologist, the doctor who puts you to sleep, needs to know if you have, for instance, low oxygen levels, an unusual heart rhythm or your blood clotting factors are off.
Blood tests will show if you have an infection that is not showing symptoms.
All of this preparation before surgery, will help the patient receive the best possible care, a positive outcome and quick recovery.
Some of you may already know that my husband is scheduled to have a total knee replacement and his pre-admission testing was completed just a few days ago and it all went perfectly. Not only did the testing go well but he raved about the efficiency and the kindness he was shown during the hour and half it took to complete the process.
While waiting for my hubby, @thebigsweed , I went shopping. Just a mile or two down the road from the testing center is a Kings food store that has such a wonderful array of fresh foods as well as a floral department, wine department, specialty cheeses and fresh salad bar.
As the time ticked away, my stomach was telling me it was time for some lunch. I just couldn't resist a big container full of this freshly made soup.
As I perused the cheese section I came across DOROTHY'S COMEBACK COW. I purchased this one to give to my youngest sister DOROTHY. 😁😉
I loaded a few boxes with salads, Kings had quite a lot to choose from as you can see.
The floral department was just loaded with color from all the flowering plants and cut bouquets that lined shelf after shelf. #alwaysaflower !!!
It was time to go and just as a turned into the driveway of the facility where my husband was, my cell phone rang. "Ready to go" was heard on the line.
It was such a beautiful day that we decided to open the back of the car and tailgate while we enjoyed the yummy food and the blue skies.
