Cable Television, Anyone? - A Market Friday Contribution

Hello my Hive friends. It's Friday once again. It's one of the most awaited day of the Week! It's time for the popular #MarketFriday tag hosted by @dswigle. This is an initiative I highly recommend you join or at least know more about. Just click on the link here and have a real cool Hive experience you'll always look forward to.

For this Friday I would like to feature the installation of a cable television service in our house which was done earlier today. My nurse nephew, who is staying with us while awaiting for the country to open so he can travel to Berlin, arranged for the purchase and installation of the cable service to add a little bit of entertainment for us during this quarantine period.

The cable network provider is one of the biggest in our country, Sky Cable. My nephew availed of the Super Saver Plan 1599 which provides for unlimited internet and High Definition Cable TV Bundle.

The plan offers among others 8mbps Broadband Service, Cable service with 7 HD and 35 Standard Definition Channels, and free Wi-Fi modem. All these for only Philippine Pesos 1,599 per month or about US$ 30. The relaxation of our Quarantine rules last May 16 allowed for this sector to open and do business.

The 2-man crew arrived just after lunch and immediately set up the wiring system needed for the service.

And inside the house:

They needed to bore a hole in the wall where the cable would pass through.

Sustained some minor damage to the exterior wall. But nothing that a simple putty cannot handle :)

Cable insertion outside and inside.

The modem and the router are now ready for installation.

Doing the final coding and synch with home base.

AND . . . VOILA. We now have cable TV.

That's it for this Market Friday post. Not your standard market but hopefully a sign that soon other markets and businesses like this will be opening again. These are all needed to jumpstart the economy and avoid a recession. We can only hope that it will be sooner than later. Thanks for dropping in. I hope you enjoyed it. Please stay safe everyone and may you all have a great weekend ahead!!!

This is a perfect #MarketFriday! I once did a nail salon where I got my nails done. The unusual is always welcome. :) That was a nice gesture for your nephew and I am sure it will be put to good use! I love cable and most of mine were prewired when the house was built, but, I have had somewhere they drill holes all over the house. We spent a long time filling holes and trying to hide wires. (I was so anal about the black wires they stapled to my ceiling!)

All in all, I wouldn't trade it for no cable, so I will stop complaining! They did an awesome job at your house! I wish your nephew good luck in being able to get to Berlin in a timely manner. Thank you always for your awesome support!
