In my previous post, you read that I am now at my hometown. We flew for two hours to reach here. Slept at 1am and was extremely tired in the morning because the boys woke up at 7am. We had 6 hours of sleep.
Friday here was gloomy and cloudy. By the time we wanted to go out for breakfast, it rained. And rained for 5 hours. The boys just relaxed at home watching TV, playing games, exercise, playing Tetris or just do nothing.
It was Dragon Boat festival too so we ate 'pak zhang', a type of Chinese dumplings made with glutinous rice, with meat fillings. So yummy.
Lunch at KFC
It was still drizzling during lunch time, so parents decided to bring us to a mall nearby so that we had sheltered car park. We were lazy to think so we ended up at KFC for lunch.
Toy Shop
After lunch, we walked around the mall and my father brought the boys to see some toy section. Really love all the microblocks figurines. If I had all the time, I would buy one for myself.
Suddenly, my youngest son saw something he likes. He recently was fond of Sesame Street characters, he found these two soft toy on the shelf and my parents decided to buy one for him for his next month's birthday. He chose Cookie Monster. His Kermit the green frog is on the way from China.
Supermarket at Deltamall
Aftee toy shop, we went down to supermarket sections as my mother wanted to buy some fruits..
My parents said recently the supermarket upgraded themselves by selling a lot of international products like some products from Singapore, Taiwan, Korea and China.
Indeed, all sorts of noodles and dry products, drinks and pre-made food.
Some usual sections which I think are properly organised and arranged.
The boys always find those big packaging style interesting.
My youngest was hugging his newly bought Cookie Monster at the supermarket.
Some other miscellaneous and colourful stuff here.
Husband got interested with these bottled drinks but he didn't get any, instead he bought other stuffs. Read till the end to find out.
This supermarket even sells homemade soap, which I always love to see.
We reached home in the evening and husband and eldest son couldn't wait to indulge in the stuff they bought at the supermarket. We actually didn't spend a cent because my mother insisted to pay everything in our basket. We were blessed. He said he bought but my mother insisted to pay EVERYTHING. So we actually spent zero. Except on the lunch at KFC which we paid about $25 (way over $10 otherwise we could only share eat few pieces of chicken.)
While I truly enjoyed this canned 3 layer milk tea which I seldom see at Kuala Lumpur. Yum yum!
Love to see younger generation mingling so well with older generation. I find this sight is rare. My youngest son and my mum could click. They even shared one same sofa and chatted about anything. My youngest son amazes me in the sense he actually knows quite a lot of things despite him not going to school and still taking his slow pace learning about reading and writing and Maths (I am his main teacher at home and I am so slowwwww).
I still have 6 more days to spend time at Sibu. I look forward to spend alot of time with my parents.
It's so nice you are able to spend time with your parents! And it gives your boys the opportunity to get to know their grandparents better. Have a great time!
Thank you. Yes, I had been wishing to be back. Time flies and soon I will fly back to Kuala Lumpur. Shall seize every moment here.
