Market Friday: No. 1 China Mart

in Market Friday2 years ago

Some time back, I went to spend time with my Pastor and another friend at a mall called Sunway Velocity Mall. One special thing about this mall is that there is a particular isle is specialised in all things China. The irony is, I am a
Chinese from Malaysia and there are many things about China which I do not know about. However, my Pastor knew a lot of things about China as she went there before — the food, the culture and the language.

After our lunch at a China restaurant, she brought us here, sort of like educational and knowledge purpose as she was aware how lost were we. Both my friend and I are Chinese who speak a lot of English and Malay. I can read a little of Chinese characters, my friend can read a little way lesser than me. 😋

Thank you for joining me at this China Mart in #marketfriday, initiated by @dswigle, our lovely Denise.

No. 1 China Mart

My Pastor wanted to explore this mart to find out whether is this really the so-called No.1 because she went to another China Mart nearby here area. She was joking in a way, she knew it was only for branding and shop's name purpose.

The entrance looks like this. Nothing simple or elaborative. Just a shop and with their items. However, I do love their lightings.

One glance of the mart. Really simple and down-to-earth, so you are expecting nice interior design, this has none. It is serving its purpose as merely a mart.

We walked to this section first where it was full of convenient-sized vacuum-packed food. From grilled fish to sausages to meat like pork belly to seaweed and preserved vegetables. Meaning, you could just cut open and eat right away. Some sweets too. My friend and Pastor really love these food but I still couldn't accept to eat just like that. Still prefer to eat food which come out of fridge and onto stove for some cooking. Maybe, I will change in the future. Never try never know.

Indeed, this mart really has a lot of items. Many isle for you to explore.

Special snack according to my friend. I am not a snack eater so I was just admiring them.

I walked right to the ramen section because I loved ramen. My eyes opened wide because I was lost by the varieties.

My Pastor who could read Chinese and had tried a few was trying to tell us which brand was nice. This. This. And that. I was equally lost. Also calculating the price and they weren't that cheap. In the end, I only fed my eyes and phones, I didn't buy any.

Cold storage zone. Also, lots of special food.

Trying to figure out the difference between mala and szechuan. Haha.

Special flavour for Lays chips. I shall stick to the original. But these were fascinating.

I forgot what are in these beautiful vases but they looked so beautiful and definitely not cheap.

More drinks from pouch and jellies and mochis. I couldn't captured all sections but below were what I managed to capture.

Biscuits and sweets and toys snacks.

Dried preserved sweets? I think so. Haha.

While the two ladies were busy at food seasoning and sauces area, I was at the coffee and tea section, too fascinated by varieties of unknown cute brand that now I noticed I did not take photo of this section. But I did buy a coffee and a milk tea for myself to try..

At the cashier counter, there were a lot of sweets and jelly too. My friend suggested me to buy jelly sweet for the boys, saying that they would love it.

My purchase

My youngest boy really loved the jelly sweet.

That's about it for my #marketfriday this round. Do you love China Mart too? Or you are a fan of all things Korean due to the K-Pop culture? For me, I love stuffs which I am more familiar with, as I am not so adventurous eater.

It's really a humble mart but with lots of items to buy.
The コロロ you bought can also be purchased here in Japan.
The vases were wonderful, I agree! Maybe they are scents or maybe there are sweets inside?
I love the lighting of the place too. The lighting is so extravagant but the items are lined up in a polite manner. Somehow it doesn't match 😅
