Oh yes, the decks and verandahs were just delightful! I neglected to get a good picture of them, but there were hummingbird feeders hanging from the edges of the covered deck structure, and they were lively with happy, hungry birds.

Older homesteads here had lovely wrap-around verandah, I would love a home like that. Good you took a lovely break, sounded as if it was really good fun all being together.
