It is Friday again and yes, it is a happy day because the weekend is waiting for us not far ahead! So,

Happy Friday, dear friends!

This is my first participation in the #marketfriday hosted by @dswigle with a "photo report" about a market at my town the north-east of Estonia.☀️Это мое первое участие в #marketfriday, организованном @dswigle.

We do not have such a market often, only a few times a year. Sellers from other places of the country bring their very different goods. You can see from the photos how different they are. This temporary market looks like a camp set up in the middle of our town, usually conquering it for three days, Friday to Sunday.🌞Такой рынок у нас бывает нечасто, всего несколько раз в году.

The girls in the picture above could in no case walk past the toy stall. It's so good that the lessons are over, and the mothers are still at work!🎁Девочки на этом снимке выше, конечно, не могли пройти мимо прилавка с игрушками.

A stall with local seasonal products. There are mushrooms, cranberries and blueberries from our forests; apples, raspberries, sea buckthorn, tomatoes, radish, onions and garlic grown by Chudskoe Lake which is called Peipsi in Estonia; dried fish from that lake area. Here walnuts and grapes are clearly imported.🍅 🍏Прилавок с местными сезонными товарами.

The meat products on this stalls look very appetizing. Well, smoked foods are unhealthy, I know that, but it is extremely difficult to resist and not buy anything.🍖 🍗Мясные продукты на этом прилавке выглядят очень аппетитно.

Canned meat is also a good idea to have in the fridge, just in case.🐓 🐇

This pretty handicraft - some items look typical for Estonia, some -not.☀️Очень милые изделия ручной работы - некоторые в эстонском стиле, некоторые -нет.

Stalls with honey are my favourite. The variety of the goods is amazing. Here, you can find linden, buckwheat, heather, and other types of honey collected in the woods or in different parts of the country, including the islands. There is honey in combs and many other products such as honey with pollen, wax, bee bread and so on.☘️ 🌼Мой любимый товар - мёд.

Another seller had a smaller choice, but he had apple honey collected by bees from flowering apple trees. It is white in color. I tried - it was delicious. My purchase today was two jars of buckwheat honey.🌞У другого продавца выбор поменьше, но зато у него был яблочный мёд, собранный пчёлами с цветущих яблонь.

The very last stalls. Flowers, seedlings, onions, garlic. The choice is very small, but perhaps that is because the sellers were already about to go home.🌸 🌷 🌹 🌼 🌻 🌸 🌺Последние прилавки.

I absolutely love this kind of market when the people come from different regions and bring Goods that are popular for their part of the country. Lical products are always best at this kind of Market and it seems like they have their fair share of wonderful stuff. The smoked meat is really good and appetizing but like you said they're very unhealthy and I do my best to stay away from them. Although it's very tempting because when you grow up with them oh, you miss some sometimes. I have canned meat but it's usually tuna fish just in case. That is fush though! Lol The handcrafts are absolutely beautiful and anything carved with wood is something that I would probably buy but the honey, but the honey is my favorite and just looked at all the ones that they have! I have never had Apple honey but that's interesting and I've never had buckwheat honey! Flowers always seem to be last no matter where I go. They probably are short because everybody wants a flower.

I love the concept of #MarketFriday and how our cultures differ and then again, how much they are alike. Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages. Along with the fact of what is normal for where you live? These are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I had hoped that posting here will familiarize you with the world around you just a little bit more. Viewing it from a more personal level as opposed to the newsworthy level gives me a better understanding of the people and a view that is often not seen on television. Sometimes, it seems like I learn more on some social media about a certain incident than what the news tells me.

I appreciate the amazing support given to #MarketFriday! Thank you! Your participation adds a piece to your world, and I have to say, people are interested in seeing it. This entire challenge has opened up the world to me and so many others. Thank you again for being a part of all this! I am so happy to see you here! I hope you have a fabulous day! Hive on!!

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how: I put this in for those reading your post, so they will know the rules.

Rules of the Road

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost?
  3. Post the picture(s) Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated)
  5. Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it
  6. Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
  7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post. If you don't and someone reads it, there is nothing to tie #MarketFriday to that post.
  8. Please only one post each week. Believe it not, I run out of voting power if you put in many more than that.

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

Upped and reposted

Dear @dswigle, your comment is fantastic! Lots if thanks to you for the wonderful contest and the time you took to answer. I also love the concept of #MarketFriday, you are absolutely right that the best way to understand other cultures is to see it "from inside", and markets help us do that.
Have a nice day and the new week ahead!
