Awesome post, Steve, as a fellow SAFFA, I can relate to potjie kos haha... I have however only had it a few times in my life with family friends of ours and it was made vegetarian, as I grew up veggie !LOL... but it was such a fun way to eat and the yum factor was incredible... although I think that is heightened when it takes so long to cook and you smell the delicious flavour when the pot is opened to be checked. This day out looked like loads of fun!!! Did your fave end up winning? I came here via Dreemport today !PIZZA

Hi @samsmith1971 and thanks so much for that 😊 Great to make contact with another SAFFA………..hoezit haha.
Definately nothing wrong with being a vegetarian......I haven't had too many potjies over my life as well because of the time involved but one was a vegetarian pot and it really does bring out the flavours.
The contestants I was rooting for ended up coming second (granted that I was a bit biased because I know the husband and wife team 😅).
Thanks again and have a good one 😊
haha hoezit 😂💗Dit gaan baie goed, jong! 'n bietjie van my voete afgestorm maar goed om jou te ontmoet!!! hahaha i'm not Afrikaans but can't help trying a bit if someone throws some SAFFA slang at me or some Afrikaans. I've been living in the UK for 21 years now, originally from Durbs. I see you are in a beautiful part of the Cape and I suspect you may have a good view of Table Mountain from there... have a great day, Steve!
😂💗 Yoh!……..n Engels Afrikaans Durban poison vrou wat nou n pommie is?…….nou het ek alles gesien suster 😳😂🤗
Sounds great and I believe you have been through some hectic Durban type weather there recently……ouch 🤗
I am in the southern part of the peninsula (Muizenberg) so I don’t have a view of Table Mountain unless I drive to the city but we have a far more laid back vibe than “up the line” and an amazing coast line and mountain range right next to each other stretching all the way south to Cape Point :)
Thanks a lot and I hope you have a great one too 😊🤗
