The Buena Park Certified Farmer's Market is located at the parking lot of Sears in Buena Park, California. It is open only on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm. At the height of the pandemic, this was closed, but we heard in February 2022 that it will soon re-open.

One weekend we went to check it out and indeed they are back in business.

It was a sunny day, but we still opted to shop here instead of in the comfort of airconditioned big grocery stores. This is to show our support, (no matter how small) to our local farmers. And get a dose too of sunshine vitamin to strengthen our bones.

Fresh Produce

The fruits and vegetables are farms fresh. Owners of the stand or the vendors picked them up on the morning they are sold. Those at the grocery stores, on the other hand, are generally several days old even before they reach the produce aisle as they have to be put in delivery trucks.

The cherimoya on the right side of the avocados is one of my favorite fruits. It has a creamy texture and it is sweet. It was a bit expensive though, I paid $8 for 2 small pieces.

Look at the vivid colors of the vegetables, they are a reflection of the freshness and the nutrients they contain.

Other Food Items

In addition to the fresh produce, there are various kinds of food. Nuts, bread, popcorn, and many more.

Galing Naman all fresh produce! Ahahaha yes Bago din sa akin Ang Cherimoya fruit. I was attracted to the orchids flower Gaganda...

And the fresh produce are cheaper than in the stores. Thanks for dropping by.

This is very similar to the Rastro (fresh market) in Southern Spain. The stalls have exactly the same fresh produce. It would be fun to explore.

You will love it. Don't forget to bring a bag.
