Market Friday - Saltwater Pet Store

Here is a visit I took to a saltwater fish petstore for this #marketfriday by @dswigle

First we start off with lots of neon coral plants.
PSX_20200717_174558.jpg
Each one has amazing and unique colors.

The special uv tank lighting helps bring out their colors more.
PSX_20200717_174723.jpg
The cool thing about coral is the way each one moves with the water currents in the tank.
PSX_20200717_174801.jpg
So many weird shapes and sizes.
PSX_20200717_174839.jpg
This one's arms were waving around everywhere.
PSX_20200717_174926.jpg
Now for some saltwater characters.
PSX_20200717_175051.jpg
This eel was really interested in me as I passed by the tank. What an expensive hobby saltwater tanks are. This eel cost $1,000 and his tank setup probably costs $2,000.

This scorpionfish was in the same tank as the eel.
PSX_20200717_175007.jpg
He was being quite the showoff too.

Now its time to dive down to crustacean level. The little red shrimps were picking around the bottom in their own separate tank.
PSX_20200717_175256.jpg
This tiny character resembles a spider of some kind.
PSX_20200717_175418.jpg
This little guy is also very spider-like. He is guarding the corner.
PSX_20200717_175510.jpg
This place even has seahorses and some strange long fish looking guys. They have a face similar to a seahorse, maybe they are related somehow.
PSX_20200717_175600.jpg
Look at this strange angler fish. His side fins act like hands. He is grabbing hold of the rock with them. At first glance I thought he was a rock too.

Look at his face, quite the underbite going on with this guy lol.

That's all for now happy #marketfriday :-)

Nice discovery post :-)

Wow! This was a great adventure! The UV lights really pump up the action here! This is such a wonderful mix of fish and coral and all kinds of life down under! The angler fish is really a weird dude! The spidery looking ones are so cool and there is no telling what you will see in saltwater!

I recognize those snake-like fish with the seahorse! They populated the water in Bonaire (saw them while diving) Pipefish, together with the seahorses and seadragons, form the family Syngnathidae. So yes! They are related. I absolutely enjoyed your entire post, start to finish. I would love to do it all over again!
