Very interesting article. I think of the folly (deliberate misrepresentation?) of U. S. health officials as the epidemic began to spread here. We were told that, not only were masks not necessary, but that wearing them could increase our chances of being ill. Obviously, the desire was to discourage us from buying masks so that front-line workers would have sufficient supply. But the lie is what makes people lose faith in health authorities. And that is very dangerous. (I never believed them).
Great information you give about the mechanics of the mask and also its potential for spreading pathogens.

I was always amazed by this: what is wrong in telling the truth... This is how we lose faith in our governments, as you said... :(

Some times the health care facilities are not well funded, so they use any means necessary to take care of their predicament.
