Take for instance, during the outbreak of human immunodeficiency virus. This virus has the ability of bringing down the body immunity thereby making us more prone to other diseases. The same thing is also applicable to some other diseases.
Have you ever seen a patient who is suffering from a blood vessel disease before. Some of this patients do have stiffness of the veins while others have a vein that are dilated beyond normal. But the whole idea is that whether dilated or stiffed always affects the hearts. There is this popular saying which is

Anything that happens in the body have a way of affecting every other parts of the body. Covid 19 is a viral disease that affects the body more especially the respiratory parts of the body.
Surviving this virus may not really be the issue. The problem that comes as a result of covid 19 infestation creates more problem in the body. People who have this virus suffers a lot of complications even when confirmed free from the virus.
At first I taught covid 19 only affects the lungs alone, little did I know that a patient who suffered covid 19 are prone to many other diseases like kidney disease, heart problem and vessel damages.
This virus affects the body by attacking the healthy cells. It does this through making copies of itself and spreading all over the body through the body ACE2 receptors. This virus takes control of the body cells where it kills most of the healthy cells of the body.
Remember this virus enters the body through the mucous membrane either from the nose or throat where it now went down to the respiratory tract causing inflammation of the lungs and your inability to breath efficiently.
The lungs is the first place where covid 19 resides before affecting every other parts of the body. This virus affects the heart by causing inflammation of the heart also known as pericarditis and myocarditis. It also blocks the vein that supplies blood to the heart by forming blood clot. Development of blood clot in the vessels prevent blood from reaching the heart efficiently therefore causing heart related issues like angina pectoris and heart failure. Most patient with this virus have been identified to have an increase level of cardiac troponin which is an indication of heart related injury.
Also, covid 19 has been identified to cause kidney diseases. A lot of patient who has been identified not to have kidney issue have been confirmed to have damages to the kidney due to covid 19 pandemic. According to report, upto 30% of individual who have covid-19 have also been discovered to have moderate or severe kidney problem source.
This can be identified through a urine test called urinalysis where a lot of proteins found in urine simply signifies that there is problem with the persons kidney.
Many patients who have kidney issue as a result of covid 19 have also been undergoing dialysis while some of them have mild issue that could not lead to dialysis. It have also been understood that among the patient that come down with kidney problem many among them could be suffering from hypertension or diabetes. This also contributes to the chances of them developing kidney problem.
This virus affects the kidney by binding to the cells of the kidney therefore making copies of themselves. The kidney also has a receptor where the virus also bind. This receptors can also be found in the lungs and heart of an individual. The binding of this virus to the receptor makes it more easier to have its way in damaging the organs of the body.
Oxygen supply can also lead to kidney malfunction. When there is decrease in oxygen supply to the body caused by the virus. The kidney cannot be able to receive a reasonable amount of oxygen. Decrease in kidney oxygen supply leads to its malfunction. Remember this decrease in oxygen supply is as a result of pneumonia caused by the virus which in one way or the other must have created a hole in lungs causing depletion in oxygen supply.
Do you also know that covid 19 destroys the veins. It does this through breaking down of the endothelial vessels causing occlusion of the vein. This virus is typically made up of 29 proteins. Out of this proteins scientist undergo an investigation to find out which one of this protein could be the reason behind the blood vessel damages.
They conducted a test with RNA of each of the protein. Each RNA where inserted into the blood vessels cells in the lab. Where their reactions are being monitored to actually find out the proteins behind the endothelial damages.
After the test conducted, it was discovered that out of the 29 proteins, 5 of them are the reason behind the vessel issues. Remember when the blood vessels are affected the organ they supply are also affected.
in conclusion
My aim of writing this article is to detail the damages covid 19 can cause to the body. This virus may look to be affecting only the lungs but can as well cause a lot of damages in our body.
Today some of the persons who have suffered this virus and have declared free from it should as well revisit the hospital to check if there is a problem caused as a result of this virus.
Finally, I will conclude this by letting us know that our body needs medical attention. whenever you think you are not feeling fine,try as much as possible to visit any medical center for check up.

COVID may indeed affect us much more than what we can think of. Many people are found to suffer a long time after being infected (this is what is called "long COVID", that is not even considered as a disease in some cases!) and others who where healthy took a lot of time to fully recover. We are still in the learning phase (whatever politics may want to say on this matter) and who know what science will find in the following months/years.
