Vopson, associate professor at the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom and explores the hypothesis that the universe could be a computational simulation where gravity emerges as a process of information optimization, similar to how a computer compresses data to save resources.
It would also be how the universe itself works, how the universe manages to optimize processes, which is what this research specifically analyzes and analyzes it, reaching the conclusion that the universe works in a similar way to a computer to save resources. Vopson starts from information physics, a branch that arises from physical reality, thinking that physical reality is composed of structured information, that is, that, ultimately, if we dive deep into an atom, into the last particle that makes up that atom, into the essence and we dive even deeper into that particle, the only thing we would find would be structured information, no matter, no energy, just structured information.
This research attempts to analyze that the universe uses gravity as a way to save energy like a computer does and that ultimately all of us, what we are, the last particle of which we are made up would be essential basic information, with which what is matter and energy would simply be the accumulation of information within that simulation, of that computer, of that universe that works like a computer.
The work of this researcher opens doors to experiments on the subject of gravity, with measurements of entropy in gravitational fields, it can be done with the new gravitational observatories, for example, the LISA telescope, this is my greatest hope for the European Space Agency, this would be a gravitational wave observatory of colossal dimensions because it would use laser rays to create a triangle between three ships linked by laser rays with a length of 1 and a half billion kilometers on each side, with which we would have an observatory of gravitational waves with a high definition capacity.
And with this we could have an answer to this issue of gravity as a cosmic computational way to save energy, as this researcher mentioned, in addition to many other mysteries of the universe.
