I agree with @agmoore. Speaking about our problems is always step 1 in finding a way out! I have weird phobias on my side, like with eyes. Believe it or not, I cannot stand a zoomed view on an eyeball (although seeing eyes as part of faces is fine).

I used to have that too till I did my ophthalmology posting...gladly you may never have thought that...But it fixed mine.
Wow, that's an interesting and unexpected correlation. Glad that it worked for you. There is however no way I try this on me. Ophthalmology is too far from my expertise (and you did it first ;) ).
