China will send robots to patrol its borders

What does it mean when a country decides to patrol its borders with humanoid machines that change their own batteries on their own?

The answer has just been revealed in Guangxi, where China is preparing one of the largest real implementations of humanoid theft in government operations. The person in charge of this challenge is UBTech Robotics, which signed an agreement of around $37 million to supply Walker S2 humanoids to border posts in the region bordering Vietnam.

The first deliveries are scheduled for December and it seems that we already know where those hundreds of robots that were shown in previous publications and on social networks were going, this is a movement that clearly exposes the direction that the country has assumed, bringing it already incorporated into public, industrial environments and now to the most sensitive areas of human circulation.

The pilot program will place the Walker S2 in tasks that go far beyond just patrolling, robberies must guide travelers, organize the flow of people, assist in inspections and provide logistical support, outside the immigration environment they will be sent to steel, copper and aluminum factories, acting as tireless inspectors.

The strategy follows the national trend.

Robots appearing in airports, public offices, large events and even in international cooperation, as seen during the Shanghai cooperation organization summit, where a multilingual robot was used to serve authorities.

The Walker S2 was designed precisely for this type of continuous useful life, with around 1.76 cm in height it has 52 degrees of freedom, fourth generation hands with submillimeter precision and enough strength to manipulate loads of up to 15 kg in each arm, working from ground level to almost 2 meters in height, but it is the energy system that transforms the robot into something close to a constant presence.

Its dual battery mechanism allows you to change a discharged unit for a full one in around 3 minutes, guaranteeing almost uninterrupted operation for 24 hours, perception is guided by RGB Stereo Vision, while the Brainnet 2.0 and Coagent AI platforms combine multimodal reasoning, planning and autonomous responses to exceptions.

The gait is stabilized by dynamic sway algorithms that keep the robots steady, even carrying weight or moving at more than 7 km/h. UBTech Robotics is experiencing a moment of accelerated expansion. The goal is to deliver 500 industrial robos by the end of the year, multiply production by 10 in the next cycle and reach 10,000 units annually by 2027, reducing costs as scale increases.

In Guangxi, the border begins to be guarded by machines that do not get tired, do not lose their breath and do not interrupt the shift to change batteries, a harbinger of how Chinadoes the future of industry security and infrastructure control, humanoid machines with will become a permanent part of the country's operational ecosystem.
