The first robot phone

The giant Chinese corporation Honor surprised the world by presenting the first robot phone, a concept that unites AI, robotics and Wobi design. During the Magic 8 Pro launch event, the company closed the presentation with what it called a new kind of technology, the Honor Robot Phone.

The promise is a device that not only responds to commands, but “feels”, observes its surroundings and even shows emotions, it is a true pocket digital companion; The inspiration seems to have been something between Pixar's Wall-E and Star Wars' Pip Pocket Troy, don't you think?

According to Honor, the device will integrate multi-modal AI intelligence, robotic movements and advanced wearable imaging features. In the demo video, the phone shows a camera mounted on a mobile stand that extends from the back, rotates and observes the environment as if it has consciousness.

This camera is capable of capturing photos and videos from any angle, and even reacting by emitting curious sounds that are reminiscent of the most charismatic droids in cinema, but behind the visual spectacle and propaganda there is a very futuristic vision, transforming the phone into an emotionally interactive being, like a companion.

Honor describes the Robot Phone as an emotional companion that feels, adapts and evolves, creating a more natural relationship between humans and machines. The idea is that by giving personality and expression to an AI, users will feel more comfortable conversing with it, something that could redefine the way we interact with our digital assistants.

Inspired by previous designs like Asus' Syn Phone 6, which had a flip-up camera, Honor's concept goes much further, adding autonomous movement, expression and a kind of technological presence. The teaser shows the device entertaining children, taking selfies, observing the sky, even skydiving, suggesting a fusion between smartphone, robot and personal assistant.

Don't be disenchanted, but so far, the Robot Phone exists only as a concept video, with no physical prototype or release date, the company indicated that it will make new revelations at the Mobile World Congress within its ambitious Plan, Alpha, which defines the future of interaction between humans and machines. And you could get used to a phone that looks back at you and reacts like a little robot. a little robot.
