“What is the Use of Windows + X Shortcut in Windows?”

in StemSocial25 days ago

Hello everyone, How are you all? and i hope you all are doing well and i am too. Today i would like to tell about what is the use of Windows+X and how it can be used as gateway for solution to the problems that we face in the laptop.
I have a laptop with model - HP Pavilion laptop 14-ec1xxx and its OS is Microsoft windows 11. I bought this laptop in 2023 sept and it worked very well in the initial days and i used keep my laptop ON for hours several times instead of shutdown when not required. One day my screen showed this thing, You can see those black square dots on the screen.

first i thought screen got broken but later understood it is because of driver issue. In my case my laptop has AMD Radeon graphics and it showing these square black dots because its driver was corrupted. If i want to explain in simple way, lets consider Windows OS as a teacher and who controls the class and gives instructions. Now consider Driver as a translator who speaks both teachers language and students language and AMD Radeon graphics is the topper of the class and who is good at drawing diagrams. AMD Radeon function is about handling images, videos and graphics intensive tasks in short it acts like a graphics worker.
Teacher(Windows OS) tells the translator(driver) to make a diagram of a Dog. The translator will passes this language or information correctly to the student(AMD Radeon graphics) and the student(AMD Radeon graphics) will make a perfect diagram of dog.
If there is problem in the Translator(Driver), he will speak incorrectly or he can't give correct information to the student, then the student can't understand properly and the diagram that he draw will be wrong/incorrect(which are the black sqaure dots on the screen or the artifcats or glitches).
So finally we can understand that problem is in the driver which acts and communicate in between Windows OS and AMD Radeon graphics.

How to solve it?

Here issue is in the translator(Driver) who is bad at translating and not doing his job properly and it causing problem. So we need to remove(uninstall) this translator(driver) and we have to add basic translator(Microsoft Basic Display Driver). This Microsoft display driver is always built into windows acts as a backup i can say.
How to do it?
step 1 - Click Windows and X
then you will get like this

step 2 - Click on the "Device Manager"

you will get like this

you will get like this and you can see the AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics

Step 4 - Click on "AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics"

and you will get like this and you can see update driver, disable device and uninstall device.

Step 5 - Now click on "Uninstall device"

and the basic microsoft display driver will take the charge and and you can see those black square dots(glitches/artifacts) are gone.

I hope you understood and learnt about use of windows+X and what is driver issue and amd radeon graphics.

Thanks for reading,

Great explanation! I like how you used the teacher, translator, and student analogy to describe Windows, drivers, and graphics. The Windows + X shortcut really is a powerful tool, especially for fixing driver issues quickly and keeping systems running smoothly.
