STEMng Digest: Week 54

in StemSocial2 years ago

A good day to all the curators, creators, developers, and every other stakeholder of the hive community. Welcome to another week and another edition of our weekly publication where we showcase the best of Nigerian authors in the stem field on the hive blockchain

STEMng is a sub-community of the stemsocial community, a community that is dedicated to supporting stem authors on the hive blockchain.

Basically, our curators comb through the blockchain for stem-related content published by Nigerians that fulfill the curation criteria of the stemsocial community. Such posts are then submitted in the curation channel of the stemsocial community on discord for upvotes. The following articles are the picks for this week's STEMng digest:

1.@khaleesii: My Experience with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)

A scientific post based on personal experience. Polycystic ovarian syndrome is one of the top reasons some women find it difficult to conceive. The author wrote about a family that suffers from the abnormality and how she was able to overcome the problem based on her advice. Totally worth a read.

2.@jsalvage: Is there any value to man and his environment that mosquitoes may provide, aside from the fact that they are harmful to us?

Many people in the malaria-endemic regions of the world would probably know nothing about mosquitoes beyond the fact that those ugly, little, blood-sucking and annoying creatures are responsible for the transmission of malaria. Little do they know that the insect may offer some form of benefit to mankind. Read this post to understand more.

3.@noble-noah: The Nigeria Moin-Moin: An alternative to eating beans in its natural form

Moinmoin remains a popular food among the Yoruba-speaking folks of Nigeria. A food so good and nutritious it has to be named twice. In this post, the author wrote about the problem associated with preparing beans in his home and how moinmoin provides a better alternative to eating ordinary beans.

4.@clinton19: Transportation : The Technological Journey So Far

There is no doubt that technology has shaped a lot of things in our lives, including how we move from one place to another beyond using our legs. Just how far has transportation technology evolved? Go ahead and give the post by the author a read.

5.@gentleshaid: Snake season and what you need to know

The rainy season in Nigeria is usually followed by a period of extreme cold and heat in the name of harmattan. This period is fast approaching and the author warned of the likelihood of coming across snakes frequently during the period. he went ahead to explain do dos and don'ts of snake bites. Hop on the post to have a read.
