STEMsocial Distilled #1

in #steemstem4 years ago (edited)

After 122 editions of the SteemSTEM distilled, here is the very first issue of STEMsocial! @lemouth spent some time this week writing up a summary of the best STEMsocial posts of last week.

For those who do not know what STEMsocial is, please take a look here (this needs to be updated, but one can get the rough idea), or pass by Discord or the Hive Chat.

Before moving on with the two best posts that have been selected by @lemouth (from all the posts found by our curators last week), here is the most supported posts (of last week):

Interested in being part of that list? Please check these guidelines or ask for a mentor on Discord or on the Hive Chat.

Our top choices

Biotype and plant adaptability: Amaranthus

This week, we embark with lupafilotaxia to enter the field of ecophysiology. In layman terms, the post discusses a plant named Amaranthus that has adapted to increase its efficiency to use photosynthesis. The story is additionally illustrated by various photos taken by the author. Feel free to pass by.

Artificial intelligence: How healthy is the future?

The are more and more human-like machines on the market, and more and more sophisticated machines are expected to arise in a (maybe not so) close future. @joelagbo discusses in details how machines can help humans today to perform many tasks in various domains. However, is it healthy? Please share your opinion in the post.
