Lara era una joven en teoría como otras, la distinguía el que era muy hermosa, su rostro era fino con ojos grandes azules, su cabello era largo y sedoso, sus labios finos y tenía los aires de una princesa, pero aun con tanta belleza, era sencilla amable, dulce y gentil, pero fuerte cuando la situación lo ameritaba.
Esta joven sentía que algo cambiaba en ella con cada luna llena. Le parecía que sus sentidos se agudizaban, percibía los olores de otra manera, escuchaba el más mínimo sonido, su vista ampliaba su rango, sin olvidar que su gusto percibía todo lo que había en los platos que preparaba su madre.
Al cumplir 18, la vida de Lara cambio, pues una noche salió a divertirse con un grupo de amigos y al regresar a casa mientras caminaba por el sendero a su casa fue atacada por un par de hombres, sus rostros eran pálidos, sus ojos rojizos y las venas alrededor de estos se tornaron negras, además tenían colmillos, la joven sintió como una fuerza sobrehumana broto de ella y logro defenderse de aquellos dos seres, logrando matar a uno tras empujarlo al hacerlo caer en la estaca de un árbol, no podía creer que ese ser extraño se había convertido en polvo, había sido atacada por vampiros.
Mientras todavía se recuperaba, vio como un lobo rojizo atacaba ferozmente al otro vampiro para defenderla y este, al ser mordido por este y sentir que veían más huyo de aquel lugar, Lara no comprendía lo que pasaba, pero sentía que el lobo era muy cercano a ella. Tras matar a este vampiro, de pronto sintió algo cambiar en su cuerpo. Era como si algo se hubiera roto en su interior y así fue. Lara era una mujer lobo y su maldición se activó tras matar a este vampiro, así que la próxima luna llena tendría su primera transformación.

Lara no entendía que era aquello que había sentido, pero esa noche, además de estar perturbada por lo ocurrido, sus padres le confesaron que la habían adoptado para protegerla, pues era la próxima alfa de una de las siete manadas de lobos y no de cualquiera de la más fuerte entre las siete. La que dirigía la guerra contra los vampiros. Por todo esto, los enemigos naturales de los lobos, los vampiros, habían cazado a su familia y ella había permanecido segura en el anonimato, pero ya era hora de asumir el liderazgo.
Llego el día de su primera trasformación y Lara fue llevada con su manada y aunque no conocía a nadie se sentía como en familia, los otros licántropos le explicaron como sería su primera trasformación, como cada uno de sus 206 huesos se fracturaría y que si se resistía, esta primera trasformación podría durar horas, pero tras todo ese dolor se sentiría como un ser libre, pues correr por el bosque como lobo era algo hermoso.
Así, mientras conocía a su manada, notó que había un joven muy apuesto que no dejaba de mirarla, era delgado, pero definido, sus ojos eran azules y su cabello castaño rojizo, lucia una barba que lo hacía lucir encantador y varonil. Ella se sintió extrañamente atraída por él. El apuesto joven era Dimitrios y sería, junto a ella, el próximo alfa. Además, al sentirlo tan cerca, se dio cuenta de que era uno de los lobos que solía escuchar aullar cerca de su casa y el que la había defendido el día del ataque.
De pronto todo en la vida de Lara tenía sentido ahora sentía que por fin formaba parte de algo que encajaba, sentía como la naturaleza formaba parte de su vida, como aunque no conoció a sus padres, cada miembro de la manada era parte de una familia más grande, como aunque acababa de conocer a ese ser que la había cuidado a la distancia por años, era tan cercano que podía sentir que lo conocía de toda la vida, comprendía por qué siempre había sentido que además de estar siendo protegida también le acechaban sobre todo en las noches más oscuras, ahora todo tenía sentido.

After killing this vampire, suddenly she felt something change in her body. It was as if something had broken inside her and it did. Lara was a werewolf and her curse was activated after killing this vampire, so the next full moon she would have her first transformation.
Lara did not understand what it was that she had felt, but that night, besides being disturbed by what happened, her parents confessed that they had adopted her to protect her, because she was the next alpha of one of the seven wolf packs and not any of the strongest among the seven.
