Our family backpacked Europe a few years ago and to this day it has still been our favorite excursion that we've been on! Started in England, zipped through France, trekked through Italy and then hiked through Switzerland! Here's the blog post with everything included!

Hi there @jasebennett welcome to Hive. Always great to see another traveller join Hive.
If your content is original, owned by yourself, and hasn't been posted on Hive or our previous chain Steem before, it's best to create a post and post it directly here rather than providing a link. Understand you may be doing that to drive traffic to your website, but that doesn't really help with getting support and rewards on Hive. So it really depends on what your priority is.
With regards to building a community, it's great that you've set one up so soon but it's quite difficult to gain traction when you're new to Hive. Writing a self introduction post will definitely help and don't forget to use the introduceyourself tag for maximum exposure. I would definitely recommend you doing that as it also helps to verify your identity. We've had many cases of imposters and stolen identity here.
Last and not the least, I'm from the haveyoubeenhere and pinmapple community https://peakd.com/c/hive-163772/created. We're the travel community on Hive and are here to support the travel community and travel content creators. Pinmapple is a travel map that allows you to pin your post on the map so you can see your travel posts visually at a glance. If you are in need of support on Hive, you are welcome to post from our community and pin on Pinmapple. Or if you're just looking for general advice, feel free to ask anytime.
Hope to see you around.
APPROACH TO LARGE CONTENT CREATORS NEEDS TO BE THOUGHT OF A BIT DIFFERENTLY BY HIVE USERS
These are some of my present thoughts (which i have thought about a lot prior to this message) Meaning i have been thinking about how we should reach out to people who already make a living creating content and are already great at building an audience.
Consider this just a thought exercise which I also think @jasebennett will find very interesting since we've been talking for hours about hive/peakd.
6b. When i was at his house describing Hive i barely even mentioned hive-reward pools or mention that there was a big audience for him to appeal to and yet he was excited enough to go out on his own (I usually tell my youtube friends to wait a bit) and he started the account of his own volition.
Personally I think even Tips should be talked about prior to reward pools. (We need that people have used votes as a weapon whereas tips can not be used that way and it is a direct action that has no oustide influence)
I think It's about a decentralized platform that offers TRUE OWNERSHIP. Specially the community feature... it perhaps becomes the MOST important feature we have on all of hive.
Imagine a sub-reddit/fb group that you have control over/ownership of and perhaps can monetize through promoted posts or ads (and maybe share the profits etc) ... on a youtube for example you make money on the views of your own content. But how about if you create a community with 1 million users and many of them create content... not just one person creating. That's working smarter with synergy. And you can help not just yourself but many other people are helped because of it... which also makes it much more fulfilling.
So a community owner right now needs to ask themselves what should they do to get a good content creator with influence to post in their community instead of creating their own and bringing in tons of users to it. Large audience would be helfpul... perhaps a cut of ownership? Perhaps a plan to distribute revenue? Even tokenization of communities could be an option? Maybe some really cool UI perks (peakd is working on that) We haven't found the perfect recipes yet but my money is on the ones who already know how to be successful with social media will be the most likely to find that recipe. But either way PeakD just wants to help who can find that recipe.
