Fifteen days ago, Minnie Lee was in the doggy operating room with her trusted veterinarian.... How did she get there, you may ask, it's a long story. Just to make a long story short, Minnie was in labor, but the process became more complicated as the hours went by. It was very stressful to accompany her at all times, besides the frustration and the moment, even more so.
Hace 15 días, Minnie Lee se encontraba en el quirofano para perros junto a su veterinario de confianza... ¿Cómo llegó ahí? se preguntarán, pues es larga historia. Solo para resumirles el cuento, Minnie se encontraba en estado de parto, pero el proceso se complicó a medida que fueron pasando las horas. Fue muy estresante acompañarla en todo momento, además de la frustración y el momento, aún más.
I remind you that I live in Venezuela, here it is complicated to work and earn enough money, unless you have a good business that gives you money all the time to support your home, family and food. In my case it is difficult because I earn per client and I was a season without work, it was sad because I was making money for my operation, but I had to use the money for Minnie's emergency surgery. I was very relieved to have money to settle during this situation, it is complicated to have to cope with all the expenses for her, but she is finally stable.
Les recuerdo que vivo en Venezuela, acá es complicado trabajar y ganar suficiente dinero, a menos que tengas un buen negocio que te de dinero todo el tiempo para sustentar tu hogar, familia y comida. En mi caso es dificil porque gano por cliente y estuve una temporada sin trabajo, fue triste porque estuve haciendo dinero para mi operación, pero tuve que usar el dinero en la cirugía de emergencia de Minnie. Me relajó mucho el tener dinero para resolver durante esta situación, es complicado haber sobrellevado todo los gastos de ella, pero por fin se encuentra estable.
It was almost 4 hours of surgery, sadly her puppies could not survive, but she made it out of there. I've never seen her so dull, she is very calm, but she is always happy or in constant movement, except for this time, she had to stay in a long rest, being supplied with medicines and a good feeding.
Fueron casi 4h de cirugia, tristemente sus perritos no pudieron sobrevivir, pero ella sí pudo salir bien de allí. Jamás la había visto tan apagada, ella es muy tranquila, pero siempre está contenta o en constante movimiento, a excepción de esta vez, que debía permanecer en un largo reposo, siendo suministrada por medicamentos y una buena alimentación.
The first nights after her surgery were horrible, my mother and I did not sleep very well to accompany Minnie, to help her move, take her to the bathroom, give her food, water and her medications, especially to calm her down after the anesthesia passed. It broke my heart just to hear her cry from the pain.
Las primeras noches luego de su cirugía fueron horribles, mi madre y yo no dormíamos muy bien para acompañar a Minnie, de ayudarla a moverla, llevarla al baño, darle comida, agua y sus medicamentos, en especial calmarla luego de que la anestesia pasara. Se me partía el alma con solo escucharla llorar por el dolor.
It was 8 days without sleeping well, making sure that she did not hurt herself at night, that she stayed lying down and resting. After a week, it was time to remove the stitches from the surgery, which was exciting, since Minnie was very happy, but still very scared when she arrived at the vet again.
Fueron 8 días sin dormir bien, pendiente de que no se lastimara en las noches, que permaneciera acostada y descansando. Al pasar la semana, tocaba retirarles los puntos de la cirugía, cosa que fue emocionante, ya que se encontraba muy feliz la Minnie, pero aún así super asustada al momento de llegar nuevamente al veterinario.
Thanks to the Doctor, Minnie is doing very well, especially because of the attention she received from my parents and myself, today Minnie is totally stable and happy, sleeping a lot but at the same time demanding attention and affection.
Gracias al Doctor, Minnie se encuentra muy bien, especialmente por la atención que recibió de mis padres y mi persona, hoy día Minnie se encuentra totalmente estable y feliz, durmiendo mucho pero al mismo tiempo exigiendo atención y cariño.
What a joy to have her with me.
Que dicha tenerla conmigo.
