We know that felines are exceptional hunters by nature. At home, when we adopted Mitchu, the last thing I thought was that we would have a natural hunter in our home.
The first time I saw Mitchu hunt, I was amazed. She was only 2 months old and she already hunted with the audacity and speed that characterizes felines. At that moment, Mitchu caught a fly that she instantly swallowed, hehehe 🤭 I was truly speechless seeing the audacity of my adorable kitty.
They usually hunt at night, and like a good feline, Mitchu sometimes spends hours waiting for prey to stalk and take it. Our kitty knows very well where to find prey; her ears and sense of smell can distinguish things very well that we humans cannot.
I wanted to share this with you all because a couple of days ago, I saw her in action, hunting cockroaches. Honestly, I don't even know where she got them, but seeing the way she grabbed the prey and then let it go, grabbing it again, was like she was playing with it.
Suddenly, it felt like the prey was going to escape, but she boldly grabbed it again. I could see Mitchu's tenacity, patience, and perseverance. She spent approximately 45 minutes chasing her prey. In the end, the cockroach scurried through a piece of furniture that Mitchu couldn't get into. But there she was, my cat, waiting for a long time for her prey to come out of hiding.
The truth is, the time for her meal arrived, and she went to her plate to eat, forgetting for a moment about that hidden prey.
The next day, Mitchu returned to the spot where he'd had his fight with the cockroach. Out of curiosity, I started moving the furniture to see if the prey Mitchu had hunted so persistently was there. It turns out I found a very large, dead cockroach. I picked it up with a shovel and threw it away. Honestly, I'm not used to seeing Mitchu hunt an insect like this and be able to eat it.
So far, I've seen her eat flies and lizards, but no cockroaches, and I never want to see her.
But I also want her to behave like what she is: a hunting cat, and one of the best! 😍
I'm getting used to finding insect remains everywhere in my house—wings, paws, heads, etc.—but hey, I know that while we're sleeping, my kitty is in full action, doing the task she naturally knows how to do very well.

Sabemos que los felinos son cazadores excepcionales por naturaleza, en casa, cuando adoptamos a Mitchu realmente lo que menos pensé es que tendríamos en nuestro hogar a una cazadora innata.
La primera vez que vi a Mitchu cazar quedé asombrada, ella solo tenía 2 meses y ya cazaba con esa audacia y rapidez que caracteriza a los felinos, en ese momento Mitchu cazó una mosca que al instante se tragó, jejeje 🤭 realmente me quedé sin palabras viendo la audacia de mi adorable gatita.
Normalmente el horario que ellos suelen usar para cazar es en las noches y como buena felina, Mitchu pasa a veces horas esperando una presa para asecharla y tomarla, nuestra Gatita sabe muy bien en dónde encontrar una presa, sus oídos y olfato saben distinguir muy bien cosas que nosotros como humanos no podemos.
Quería compartir esto con todos ustedes porque hace un par de días, la vi en plena acción, cazando cucarachas, la verdad no se ni de dónde las sacó, pero el ver la manera en cómo tomó la presa y luego la soltaba, la volvía a tomar, era como si jugará con ella.
De repente daba la sensación que la presa se le iba a escapar, pero ella muy audaz la volvía a tomar, allí pude ver la tenacidad, paciencia y perseverancia de Mitchu, ella pasó aproximadamente 45 minutos detrás de su presa, al final, la cucaracha se metió por un mueble en el que Mitchu no pude entrar, pero allí estaba mi Gata esperando por un buen tiempo a qué su presa saliera de su escondite.
Lo cierto es que llegó el momento de su comida y ella fue a su plato a comer, olvidándose por un momento de esa presa escondida.
Al día siguiente Mitchu volvió al lugar en dónde había tenido su lucha con esta Cucaracha, por curiosidad yo me puse a mover el mueble para ver si estaba allí la presa que Mitchu había cazado con tanta insistencia, resulta que me encuentro con una cucaracha muy grande y muerta, la recogí con una pala y la bote, sinceramente no me acostumbro ver a Mitchu cazar un insecto de estos y que se lo pueda comer.
Hasta ahora la he visto comer moscas y lagartijas, pero Cucarachas, no, y no quisiera verla nunca.
¡Pero también quiero que se comporte como lo que es, una Gata cazadora y de las mejores! 😍
Me estoy acostumbrando a encontrar restos de insectos por cada lugar de mi casa, alitas, patitas, cabecitas, etc., pero bueno, ya sé que mientras estamos durmiendo, mi Gatita está en plena acción, haciendo la tarea que naturalmente sabe hacer muy bien.
Cómo siempre trato de dejarles algunas fotos de las anécdotas con Mitchu, entre tantas fotos que saqué, logré salvar muy pocas, aquí les dejo algunas pruebas de lo que les he contado 😁

Cat really is good in hunting, eith their fast reflexes, it is so easy on them. Some of our cat also like to hunt cockroaches, fly, moth or just everything that fly. But when I saw them and see that those things still alive, I force our cat to let it go. Watching them killing is just bad for my heart so I stop them as much as possible. 😆🤧
Yes, it is really not very pleasant to watch them hunt, although it is part of their nature.

It's amazing to watch them hunt, they were born to do it, they do it so boldly as if they were experts, and my cat happens to be a baby, just a baby.

Uy no, con un ratón? yo me muero jejeje, solo he visto a Mitchu con pequeñas lagartijas, moscas, Cucarachas y la verdad me da escalofrios, pero entiendo que es parte de su naturaleza 😜 de todas manera ellos siempre son especialmente adorables 😍

Esa raza atigrada es cazadora y son muy alertas. A mi me dicen, llévate un gatito y en tu casa no habrán insectos, limpian la casa. Ellos cazan, pero si los acostumbran a la comida casera, dejan de hacerlo. Saludos.
Bueno ella come pura comida casera, pero ese instinto esta alli, cualquier insecto que ve volando enseguida ella se pone alerta, es increible!
