I never knew that so my dogs in theory should have this marking behind their ear somewhere as they have been sterilized? No news is indeed mostly good news and happy you guys encountered nothin unusual.

there is also a notching of the ears where they cut out a triangle on the ears. The tattoo is seen as more humane although this is just people humanizing the animals too much. The dogs might whimper for a second when they are notched but then it's like it never even happened.
I seriously doubt anyone would be able to go to the animal hospital and have a vet not notice this. I'm just trying to save people and unnecessary car ride.
spamming comments here becasue I can't seem to organize my thoughts into one message 😆 but for dogs that have homes, good homes, they generally will not mark your dog without you asking for it or at least, without asking you first. Generally this is reserved for farm dogs, work dogs, or street dogs brought in by rescue organizations. We always check for it when we find a stray but for your dogs at home at your house, they probably wouldn't have it. None of my dogs do other than the one that had already been picked up by an animal rescue, released, and then I decided to adopt her.
