Trusting a Pet Hotel with Our Fur Babies’ Comfort and Care

Hello there, pet lovers! 👋🏼🐾

There are moments when we have to leave our pets behind and it’s never an easy decision. For sure y'all can relate. My family and I had to attend a special celebration where pets weren’t allowed and since we were staying out for the night, leaving them alone at home wasn’t an option. As a pet owner, their well-being always come first.

I mentioned in my previous post that I’m just a new furparent. It was just last year when our family finally decided to take care of two wonderful dogs, Prutt and Tiny. At first, I thought it’d be easy to go out without them but boy, I was wrong!! For me, being away from them even for a short while hits different.

Thankfully, pet hotels exist now! I remembered there's a newly opened Pet Care & Cafe near our place so I messaged them on Instagram to ask if a reservation was needed for an overnight stay. I already heard great things about their services from my friend Addie so I felt confident giving it a try.

Prutt and Tiny with other dogs

Good thing they replied quickly! I was able to send over my pets’ details and stay schedule. The staff also shared a list of services they offer so I decided to add grooming to their staycation, too.

Since Prutt (our Shih Tzu) and Tiny (our Jack Russell Terrier) are healthy and fully vaccinated, we had no issues with the requirements. I prepared their essentials, of course, dry dog food, wet dog food, boiled chicken, and some of their favorite toys.

Check-In Day 🐾

Unlike other hotels, we could check in whenever, which was great. We went there around 5pm. We brought Prutt and Tiny in a stroller and the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly. The staff checked our pets for parasites and fleas. It's something I truly appreciated as a fur parent. It means they keep all fur guests safe. They also checked their vaccination cards before officially checking them in.

They encouraged us to let our fur babies roam freely. I was a bit hesitant at first, especially with Tiny (our JRT), since he can get super hyper around other dogs, so my dad kept him on a leash for a while just in case.

As soon as we let them explore the place, other dogs came over to sniff them. It's probably trying to figure out if they were nice and cool enough to hang out with 😂 I wonder how dogs choose their playmates 🤔

Oreo and Tiny

At some point I thought I lost Prutt. Turns out he has a twin in the cafe named Oreo! Prutt looked bigger than usual so I panicked a little 😂 until I realized it was Oreo all along. Oreo's super friendly and kept following Prutt around. But Prutt, being the chill dog that he is, he just wante to explore quietly. He found his spot under my dad's chair. He really like the cold floor there.

There was a time when he finally interacted with Oreo but Prutt preferred to stay close to me and just observe everyone.

Settling In 🐾

There weren’t many customers that day, but there were a lot of furbabies inside. One was getting a haircut. My sister and I decided to try their chocolate and strawberry milkshakes while we talked to the staff about our dogs' food.

Tiny and Prutt are both picky eaters so I made sure to bring boiled chicken with no seasoning and their usual dry and wet dog food. I forgot to ask beforehand if they had a fridge for storing pet food but they did! They even gave us free collapsible bowl for our fur babies.

The staff showed us where Prutt and Tiny would be staying. At first I thought we need two deluxe rooms for them ebcause I thought they wouldn’t fit in one, but the big room (suite) was super spacious and could accommodate them both. It was a relief that they're in a room together. The smaller rooms (deluxe) were cute too. The're a dog which looked like a Pikachu in one of their deluxe rooms. So adorable!

Once everything was settled, we said our goodbyes to Tiny and Prutt. The staff promised to update me through Instagram of how our fur babies were doing and they really delivered!

Updates & Pick-Up 🐾

They really sent me photos of Tiny and Prutt in their suite and even showed me a picture of the food they prepared for them. I felt so at ease knowing they were being cared for.

The next morning, they messaged me again that Tiny had already finished his bath, and Prutt was getting his. Around that time, we were already on our way to the Pet Cafe to pick them up.

As soon as we walked in, Tiny and Prutt were so happy to see us. Their tails were wagging non-stop and Prutt was smiling all along. I wonder what they thought about us leaving them there for a night 🥹

After settling the bill, we took them for a walk around BGC. It's like a little reward for them for surviving their first staycation. Sooo proud of my fur babies! They didn’t cry and they didn’t cause a scene. My heart was so full seeing them happy and wagging their tails 🥹💓

I PAW U Pet Care & Cafe earned my trust. The staff was kind, responsive, and really treated Prutt and Tiny with care. I was so happy to find a place where I know my fur babies are treated like their own. I told them we'd be back and I meant it.
