He seems to be getting stronger

Earlier today I caught Yoshi chillin on his new plant in the enclosure and it was the first time I have seen him off the plastic vine and on a live plant.

He has been a lot more mobile today, but I am not sure how much he has eaten. This morning when his lights came on, I put about 5 crickets in his home and I have only been able to see two of them left there but about 4 pm. So hopefully he has been eating them throughout the day and they aren't escaping and running amok in my grow room.

Having a reptile is so much different than having any of the other pets we have had. He is just so cute and we just want to hold him and be in there with him, but chameleons are scared of so much that it is going to take quite a bit of time before he is comfortable around us. He does seem to be doing well and eating and drinking, so I will count that as a win for now.

It will be interesting to see how much he grows each week. Tomorrow, the crickets I put in his enclosure will be dusted with some vitamins, so hopefully he eats them fast so all of the vitamins don't just fall off of him. This is such a cool adventure having a tiny chameleon. I can't wait to see how big he is and the colors that he will have once he reaches his adult size.

But for now, this little fella needs his beauty sleep. Why does his eyes look like tiny mouths when they are closed? Oh, fun fact, chameleons don't have ears so they have a really hard time hearing anything, but they do like the vibrations from music.

Amazing chameleon! I had a pet Chinese Water Dragon when I was a kid. He was really cool, but you're right that having a lizard is different than say, a cat or dog. Difficult to figure out their preferences at times. I'd feed him crickets but some days he wouldn't be all that into them and they'd end up just drowning in his water bowl.

Ya. They are definitely a lot different than other types of pets. They seem to be a lot more moody.

Aww man Yoshi is so cute and the pictures of him are great, it's kind of hard to judge how small he is but I'd say he'll be a reletively big fella in a couple of years.

Well right now he is about as big as my index finger from head to tail. He should be full size in another 4 months from now. So they grow pretty quick.

That's so cool man, I didn't know they grew that fast, it'll be cool seeing him get bigger and more comfortable. I got a Florida Cooter Turtle when I was 11 and he was tiny, at the time he was about the size of the palm of my hand and he's 17 now and I think is still growing. His shell is roughly the size of the inner ring of a dinner plate.

I have always wanted a turtle, lol. Ya, chameleons grow at a massive rate. They usually get to be full grown within like 4-6 months from birth. If Yoshi really is a make, he could grow up to be 24 inches long. That would be so cool.

Deadly, I know they're kind of afraid if being seen and all with the whole blending in thing they do, but I'd say over the next couple of weeks he'll get comfortable with you and let you pick him up. Such cool creatures.

I've never had a pet, and the way you talk about your new tiny friend make me feel like I've missed a lot :) I never noticed that his closed eye looks like a tiny mouth indeed. Fantastic!

Pets are awesome. You should really get one some time.

Your images are always so clean and crispy, what gear do you use?
