Un gran científico llamado Charles Darwin decía que: "El amor por todas las criaturas vivientes es el más noble atributo del ser humano". Durante toda mi vida he tenido la dicha de compartir gratos momentos con esos seres maravillosos que nos alegran la existencia. Hoy, en homenaje a ellos, he querido presentarles a ustedes aquellas mascotas con las que he crecido física y espiritualmente.
A great scientist named Charles Darwin said: "Love for all living creatures is the noblest attribute of the human being". Throughout my life I have had the joy of sharing pleasant moments with those wonderful beings that brighten our existence. Today, as a tribute to them, I would like to present to you those pets with whom I have grown physically and spiritually.
Vicky, la mascota de mi niñez / Vicky, my childhood pet.
Siendo apenas un niño de 6 años, llegó a nuestras vidas el primer ser con quien compartí amor, juegos y compañía. Era una perrita pequinés llamada Vicky, color blanco amarillo, de contextura pequeña pero fuerte y extremadamente educada y obediente. Vivió durante más de una década, gracias a ella un niño de 6 años conoció lo que era el amor por los animales, y un adolescente de 17 años la despidió sabiendo que nunca la olvidaría.
When I was just a child of 6 years old, the first person with whom I shared love, games and companionship came into our lives. She was a Pekingese dog named Vicky, white yellow, small but strong, extremely polite and obedient. She lived for more than a decade, thanks to her a 6 year old boy knew what love for animals was, and a 17 year old teenager said goodbye to her knowing that he would never forget her.

Cuando tenía 14 años, llegó a casa una hermosa poodle que se convirtió en la compañera de Vicky, tal como una hermana menor. Cuando Susy tenía 3 años, Vicky culmina su vida terrenal dejando un gran vacío en toda la familia, especialmente en su compañera Susy. No obstante, meses después Susy da a luz a una pequeña camada de 3 cachorros, de los cuáles una de ellas, quién le dimos por nombre Sascha, se convierte en su nueva compañera de juegos. Madre e hija eran muy diferentes, Susy muy cariñosa y dócil, mientras que Sascha era muy traviesa como un volcán lleno de energías. Luego de una larga vida, con 15 años Susy nos abandona, y dos años después con 14 años, despedimos a Sascha.
When she was 14 years old, a beautiful poodle arrived home and became Vicky's companion, just like a younger sister. When Susy was 3 years old, Vicky ended her earthly life leaving a big void in the whole family, especially in her companion Susy. However, months later Susy gave birth to a small litter of 3 puppies, of which one of them, who we named Sascha, became her new playmate. Mother and daughter were very different, Susy was very affectionate and docile, while Sascha was very mischievous like a volcano full of energy. After a long life, at the age of 15 Susy leaves us, and two years later at the age of 14, we say goodbye to Sascha.

Lorenzo era un loro muy alegre y hablador. Durante 24 años llenó de alegría nuestras mañanas con sus cantos y su vivacidad.
Lorenzo was a very cheerful and talkative parrot. For 24 years he filled our mornings with joy with his singing and liveliness.
Shirly y su estadía temporal / Shirly and her temporary stay.
No habíamos tenido la dicha de compartir con un gato, pero nos tocó acoger temporalmente a una guapa gatita siamés cuya dueña estuvo ausente por un viaje al exterior. Durante dos meses tuvimos esa cariñosa compañera hasta que llegó el momento de la dura despedida y el regreso de su dueña.
We had not had the joy of sharing with a cat, but we had to temporarily take in a beautiful Siamese kitten whose owner was absent for a trip abroad. For two months we had this affectionate companion until it was time for the hard goodbye and the return of her owner.

Lulú era una adorable Cocker Spaniel que nos acompañó durante 8 años. Tierna, tranquila, un poco malhumorada y con su mirada triste, fue una gran mascota.

Luego de 2 años sin tener a ningún canino a nuestro cargo, una hermosa perrita Yorkshire que compartió durante 12 años su amor con toda la familia. Fue la consentida de la casa por lo cariñosa, inteligente y sagaz que fue.
After 2 years without having any canine in our care, a beautiful Yorkshire dog who shared for 12 years her love with the whole family. She was the spoiled of the house because of her affection, intelligence and shrewdness.

Cariñoso, hiperactivo, juguetón, travieso e inteligente. Así es la mascota que tenemos actualmente. Un Yorkshire de 5 años y medio que llegó a nuestras vidas luego de 2 años sin tener a ningún animalito a nuestro cuidado.
Affectionate, hyperactive, playful, mischievous and intelligent. This is the pet we currently have. A 5 and a half year old Yorkshire who came into our lives after 2 years without having any animal in our care.
El compartir nuestro amor por una mascota es una de las cosas más gratificantes de la vida. El enseñar a un niño a cuidar de otro ser vivo es algo que contribuye de gran manera a la fomación de su carácter y sentimientos. El estar al cuidado de la vida de un animal implica responsabilidad, no solo serán juegos y diversión sino que debemos velar por su bienestar en todo momento. Muchas gracias por leerme.
Sharing our love for a pet is one of the most rewarding things in life. Teaching a child to take care of another living being is something that contributes greatly to the development of their character and feelings. Being in the care of an animal's life implies responsibility, it will not only be fun and games but we must look after its welfare at all times. Thank you very much for reading me.
