I have a water turtle named Juanito, he loves sunbathing, being around cats, walking around the house, getting under the carpets and stealing food from my cat's plate. Juanito has many virtues, one of them is intelligence, he is very intelligent and attends to his name when you call him and also he's very photogenic 🐢😎.
Muchas personas tienen este tipo de tortugas como mascotas aunque pocos saben que crecen bastante, lo hacen siempre y cuando les vayamos agrandando su casa o hábitat, sin olvidar que el mismo debe tener un área de reposo, es decir, un espacio de tierra o piedras donde puedan descansar fuera del agua, tal cual lo hacen en la naturaleza.
Many people have this type of turtle as pets, although few know that they grow quite a lot, they do so as long as we enlarge their house or habitat, without forgetting that their house must have a resting area, that is, a space of land or stones where they can rest out of the water, just as they do in nature.
Juanito tiene 17 años y desde que medía 4 centímetros me gustaba sacarlo en las mañanas o en las horas que yo estuviese en la casa para que caminara y explorara, quedándome siempre cerca ya que era pequeño y podíamos pisarlo o golpearlo sin querer. También solía ponérmelo sobre las piernas en las noches mientras miraba la TV, se quedaba tranquilo porque al ser un animal de sangre fría le gusta el calor de nuestro cuerpo.
Juanito is 17 years old and since he was just 4 centimeters long I liked to take him out in the morning or during the hours that I was in the house so that he could walk and explore, always staying close by since he was small and we could accidentally step on or hit him. I also used to put him on my legs at night while I watched TV, it stayed calm because being a cold-blooded animal, he likes our body warmth.
Juanito se adaptó a esa rutina así que todas las mañanas lo saco de su casa y él va a donde quiere jajaja aunque al primer lugar a donde va es al pasillo a tomar el sol de la mañana. Dicen que las tortugas son lentas, pues Juanito se desaparece en un dos por tres cuando quiere hacerlo, ahora que es grande no es tan fácil que se esconda y no lo encontremos pero cuando era pequeño se metía en lugares tan insólitos que a veces pasaban dos días y no sabíamos dónde estaba, afortunadamente casi siempre salía por sí mismo cuando le daba hambre o lo buscábamos hasta encontrarlo.
Juanito adapted to that routine so every morning I take him out of his house and he goes wherever he wants hahaha although the first place he goes is to the hallway to sunbathe in the morning. They say that turtles are slow, well, Juanito disappears in a flash when he wants to do it, now that he's big it isn't so easy for him to hide and not be found, but when he was little he got into such unusual places that sometimes for two days we didn't know where he was, fortunately he almost always came out by himself when he got hungry or we looked for him until we found him.

La verdad es que a él le encantan los gatos, teníamos una gata negra que él desde pequeño amaba, realmente la amaba, se montaba sobre ella y tomaban juntos el sol jajaja, con las dos gatas que tenemos ahora no es así, ellas le tienen miedo jajaja, si se les acerca mucho salen corriendo 🥴😂😂 amén, gracias y saludos 🤗🐱🤘

Hahaha! My first thought was to keep him! At the time though we were moving to another state, so I decided not to drag him into all that and just gave him some water and let him go :)
