Un día estando todos en casa, llegó un amiguito de la familia, y entre sus mano traía un perico pequeñito que no tenía ni plumas porque aún era muy pichón, me dijo que lo encontró tirado en el piso junto a un árbol de mango, el vive cerca de ahí, realmente nuestro amiguito estaba tomándole afecto al perico, pero me dijo que le daba miedo tenerlo en su casa porque los vecinos tenían muchos gatos y estos animales por las noches se les metían a su casa y él creía que se lo podían comer, al decirme esto, no dude ni un segundo en decirle que me lo regalara, que yo lo cuidaba.

Particularmente tenía años queriendo tener de mascota a un perico, pero lo quería así tal cual, que estuviese conmigo desde pichón para poder criarlo mansito y que no picara, sin dudarlo le coloque un nombre, claro, no podía ser cualquier nombre, tenía que ser uno que lo representara, así que comencé a buscar opciones, hasta que llego el indicado FILIBERTO, cuyo significado es “FAMOSO”, pero su nombre solo no sonaba bien, tenía que llevar otro nombre de segundo que fuese representativo, así que se termino llamando FILIBERTO ANTONIO. Asi llegó a mi:

Since he was given to me I took into account that he was very small and I was afraid of how to feed him, because he could choke, so I decided to make him a preparation of goat milk with a little bit of corn flour so that he would grow strong, this had to be liquid since he was very small, so I gave him all this with an injector, I gave him a little bit twice in the morning, 2 times in the afternoon and once at night, with a little bit of water so he wouldn't choke, when he already had a week with me I kept giving him the preparation but less liquid so he would eat more and be fuller, until 3 weeks later I only gave him the little pot of food and he was on his own, he loves fruits, tomatoes, paprika, but what he loves the most is mango.
Desde que me lo dieron tuve en cuenta que estaba muy chiquito y me daba miedo el cómo alimentarlo, porque se podía ahogar, así que decidí hacerle un preparado de leche de cabra con un poquito de harina de maíz para que creciera fuerte, esto tenía que estar liquido ya que estaba muy pequeño, así que todo esto se lo fui dando con una inyectadora, se lo daba un poquito 2 veces en la mañana, 2 veces en la tarde y una vez en la noche, acompañado de un poquito de agua para que no se ahogara, cuando ya tenía una semana conmigo el preparado se lo seguí realizando pero menos líquido para que ya fuese comiendo más y quedara más llenito, hasta que 3 semanas después solo le colocaba el potecito de la comida y el ya iba solito, le fascina las frutas, el tomate, el pimentón, pero lo que más le encanta comer es el mango.

Hasta ahora le he tomado un cariño increíble, estoy pendiente de todas sus cosas, lo más cómico que me ha pasado con él es ver como mis hijos lo quieren pero de lejitos jajajaja le hacen cariño cuando está en su casita, pero al sacarlo y tenerlo por toda la casa ellos se alejan, sobretodo mis hijas gemelas, una lo agarra pero la otra le da miedo mi hija mayor al principio me preguntaba por qué era tan feo, que parecía algo raro jajaja yo le decía que estaba muy pequeñito y que aún no tenia plumitas, ya de grande me dice que si es bonito, y mi hijo varón lo agarra pero aún le tiene miedo también, de él si lo tengo que cuidar porque de todos es el que menos tiene cuidado y me da miedo que lo pise, sin embargo siempre trato con juegos que interactúen con él porque soy de las que piensa que la naturaleza es parte fundamental de los seres humanos, trato que lo toquen, que le den comida, para que el miedo se vaya desapareciendo.

Que hermoso Filiberto Antonio, se ve el amor que le has dado. Hace un poco más de 12 años viví en casa de una de mis abuelas y ella tenia un loro... ya estaba grande a mi llegada pero ella, porque era hembra, caminaba libremente en la casa. regularmente mi abuela le recortaba un poco las alas para que no se fuera volando ya que iba y venia de un patio muy grande que tiene la casa. Por desgracia la lorita sólo aprendió a gritar jajajaja habían muchas niñas en la casa y sólo gritaban, entenderse de que aún no hablaban y eso fue lo que aprendió jajajaja.
Son animales muy dulces, te siguen y les encanta interactuar con las personas. Tomaste una excelente decisión al adoptarlo, síguele dando amor y por el amor de Dios, no lo vayas a encerrar en una jaula... estoy totalmente en contra de tener animales en jaulas o encadenados de por vida, ellos aprenden a convivir muy bien si se les da buena educación y con los cuidados pertinentes no se irán nunca fuera de casa a menos que tengas un patio donde pueda salir y tomar el sol, eso les encanta así como darse baños... recuerdo que la lorita de mi abuela iba corriendo hacia los chorros de agua al verlos abierto para bañarse así como cuando llovía.

Jejeje, ni debe preocuparte... Necesitan de vez en cuando refrescar sus plumas y eso por lo que he leído es necesario para que se acicale, piensa siempre en como se desarrollan en un entorno natural y así puedes tener más idea, por supuesto lee mucho sobre sus cuidados y no olvides pedir recomendaciones a un veterinario.
